Blog postSince the pandemic and 2020, most of us have sheltered in place. Large gatherings or group meetings were cancelled unless you count Zoom. Schools went virtual, and our homes became a solitary refuge. 365 days and millions of people were left starved for that personal connection to the point of depression. If you remained healthy and are reading this, you can relate. In desperate times, it becomes even more important that you appreciate life, even one with vast limitations. Blog postPictured above on the right is Tessa Sullivan and (L) Nina Lekka at a past writer's conference.
Every writer needs an accountability partner. I am so grateful to Nina Lekka for our years of friendship and mentoring each other through our writing and publishing journeys. When either one of us is in a writing slump, the other partner motivates us to put words down on the paper and believe in ourselves, and the task at hand. Blog postMeet the newest addition to the family. My daughter rescued the cutest puppy and named him Oreo. He is part Lab & Bassett Hound (adorable) and spoiled by all of us. His favorite fun is pouncing on sidewalk ants and eating them, getting belly rubs and playing fetch. It's so nice to have a dog around again even though my grandpuppy lives across town. Since my senior dog passed last year, there's been a huge void. Maybe it's time to rescue one of my own.

Blog postTomorrow, Friday, Oct. 25, 2019 from 7-10 pm, I will be joining the Cornwall Writers Circle reading at this cool new bookstore at 16 N. Plank Rd, Newburgh, NY . What makes this exciting to me is that this bookstore is named after the owner's dog, Goose (dog lovers swoon). I will be reading a short story and an excerpt from Silver Linings as well as autographing books at the end of the event. Stop by, learn about a fascinating group of talented writers, grab a glass of wine, and a book or two!3 years ago Read more

Blog postMy family has an long standing belief. We come from French royalty.
Cool, right! I mean who wouldn't want to be associated with royalty and Versailles?
Only I'm not good at tracing our roots. I tried and failed. I thought the Morange name would be an easy search. Turns out Morange in Paris is like Smith in America.
So for my birthday this year, I'm shipping off my DNA sample to Ancestry.com to be tested, which is rather exciting. I'm sure there will be surprises there.4 years ago Read more -
Blog postOn this Mother's Day, let's not forget our precious furbabies! My dachshund, Dixie, likes to remind me that she's the boss most days whether it involves filling her food dish, petting and cuddling together, or barking her head off at the neighbor's cat.
Dog Mom's are special because they didn't give birth to these animals but there still is a strong bond similar to what a parent feels. While my children are delightful, they can tire of me quickly. To my millenial offspring, middle ag4 years ago Read more -
Blog postImagine the excitement of finding that perfect Christmas ornament. This pink typewriter reflects my website logo. When I found the exact ornament on a quick store run, I gasped and knew it would be coming home with me.
We all have these objects/people/traditions we hold close. It could be our writing, our friends and family and the things that drive us to be happy people. This pink typewriter is symbolic of the joy I get from writing. Yes, granted, its cheesy, but who cares?

Blog postAs an author, I struggle sometimes with doubt. Is my story entertaining enough? Will my readers like it? Will I even find readers? Am I just spinning my wheels here? (cliche, I know, and my critique group would cross out the superfluous word "sometimes" I used above. And I could have used a simpler word than superfluous, like unnecessary. And sentences don't begin with and, do they?) Can you feel my paranoia, folks?

Blog postI truly believe that every girl deserves a dog and a diamond, or in my case, a dachshund named Dixie. She brings a huge smile to my face just thinking about her. She's a senior dog now but she will forever remain a puppy in my heart and mind (you can visit her Facebook page--Dixie the Dachshund) My new book series is aptly named A DOG & A DIAMOND. The first e-book in the series, SILVER LININGS is free on Amazon today, 6/26. The first book features a search and rescue dog (German Shepard)5 years ago Read more

Blog postWhat makes that connection to a significant other? Is it love at first sight? Physical attraction? A similar way of thinking?
Some couples spend time together holding hands, and laughing at shared jokes. Others can sit in silence with each other reading books, or searching their social media accounts on separate smartphones without feeling rude or neglecting the other person in the room.
I people watch and make observations. That girl at a cafe reading a book in the corner sip6 years ago Read more -
Blog postToday is Good Friday. There was one thing I didn't give up this Lent season and that is writing, March was some month. My book, SILVER LININGS, is nearly ready for but dare I say it, publication or uploading after formatting. There will be no more rewrites of this chapter scene or dialogue moved. It's time for the story to debut and either sink or swim. Truthfully, I consider it a huge accomplishment to finish the book and put it out there to the critics. Let's hope the reviews are kind.

Worthy of being read over and over again. The characters were well written and well created. Perfect for such a story. I couldn't put it down.5.0 out of 5 starsReal life romance -- Arlene Foster A nice read. The romance was slow to build with some unexpected turns. The characters lives involve them in more than the romance as real life does. What I really liked is that the villain did not take over the story as they do in so many of the books I've read over the past few months.
