Word on the street is that Dennis Black is a small-time street racer who is recruited into a high stakes underground racing league that goes by the code name: Test Drive. This, like THUG, The Punisher, Max Payne (both the older ones), and many others, bring me back to when my parents got me my first Xbox back in 2002, a Green Halo: CE Xbox. I just pulled that sucker out a couple days ago. Anyway, this game is amazing, especially for a car enthusiast like myself. There's no mechanical customization, but you can change the color of your paint by choosing from some preset colors, or editing the three sliders available, as well as the shinyness. The cars are easy to handle, but it doesn't make the game too soft to enjoy. The developers made it just challenging enough to where you can't just fly through a race and expect to win, you have to dodge cars, buses, and other drivers, as well as keep an eye on the time limit, as you require jumps and checkpoints to add to the clock. In my opinion, the physics in Test Drive are a sturdy hybrid of Arcade and Simulation, and I've had great memories, most notably trying to beat Clarke all night as the car given is subpar and made it a heck of a lot harder. Anyway, I recommend this game to anyone looking for something to add to their Original Xbox collection.

This game is cool and fun! The cars whip through the tracks at high speeds with oncoming and same direction traffic....with collisions around every turn. The player car has a good feel of physics while it's driving and is realistic...but has that good balance of not-to-realistic that can become frustrating in other racing games (ahem *cough*grandturismo3*cough*). The tracks themselves are varied and cool looking with all the Xbox flare you might expect like global lighting, shelf shading objects and nice enviornment mapping. The tracks have also lots of jumps in various spots that give you more time as a bonus...making it sometimes manditory that you hit those jumps! Being chased by the police is a must in the Test Drive series....at they're in this one alright. Bumping you, knocking you....anything to pull you over.
Overall, this game is way cool and a must have for racing fans and anyone with an Xbox.

I'm a huge fan of games like this. You go flying through a crowded city at 150 and on the verge of flying out of control. Think of it as Fast and the Furious in game form. It's got a decent story line, is able to play your own music, decent graphics, and good controls. The biggest bonus is the variety of cars. Everything from a Plymouth Barracuda Hemi to a Dodge Viper to a Dodge Charger. They're all here. I'm very satisfied with this game. The only bad thing is that there's too much light in my family room to be able to play night races during the day.

This a great game because of the graphics and the new Underground mode. The problem with the game is that after playing a couple races in a city it gets very boring. The reason for this is the tracks are all very similar except for the direction you are driving the track in.

This game is a ton of fun with two players! Even though the initial car selection and track selection is very limited, it is still fun to fly through the cities, racing your friends and the cops. I just wish it had more options for courses to start out with.
