Free-roam, free-roam, free-roam...

This is without a doubt my favorite racing game (on any platform). You can free-roam all day in this title, across the entire island of O'ahu. You even have your own house(s). The selection of cars is great, the graphics are superb for a PSP title, and the GPS mechanic is a nice added touch. The racing itself left me with no complaints, and the vehicle physics seem adequately realistic (although, like most of the Need for Speed titles, you cannot actually destroy cars). There are also police in this game, which can nip into your winnings a bit if you violate traffic laws and they catch you. Best work on evasion techniques (driving off the road, through the trees, and over a hill usually does the trick).

This game is cool!!!!! you can drive whever you want, you can travel on your car for like an hour throu the roads, discovering new places also the playability is great, the car answers to your comand very nicelly. This is a must have game!!

A very very underrated game.

When it comes to PSP racing games Need for Speed and Midnight Club are among the more common titles out there. Deservedly so because they are fantastic racing games. However, this game I think truly beats them all. After about 30 minutes of playing all I could say was "WoW". I don't think I've ever had so much fun playing a racing game ever before.

Some of world's top sports car manufacturers are featured in this game such as Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Ford, Mercedes, Ascari, and so many more. Ferrari and Porsche are absent from this title but I forgot about that a long time ago. One of my favorite features in TDU is that you can purchase homes. Each home has a certain capacity for the number of cars you keep in its garage so buying multiple homes is almost certainly required. That isn't a big issue as some of homes in this game are beautiful set right next to beaches and golf courses. There are even a few homes that feature 1-2 mile long roads that lead up to the house which are perfect to drive on as there is no other traffic on those roads.

The visuals are quite impressive and if you find yourself driving around at the time of sunset the sky looks amazing setting just above the oceans of Hawaii. Perhaps the most impressive thing was the size of the free-roam area. To drive along the coast of the entire island takes about an hour and the island has a circumfrence of over 100 miles. To put it simply add the different free-roam areas from Need For Speed Underground 2, Need for Speed Most Wanted and Need For Speed Carbon together and the area in this game is still bigger. Each part of the island features gas stations, stores, airports, neighborhoods, resturants and anything else that you'd see when driving around in real life. There is plenty to do and plenty of places to go.

The racing is quite fun and the races are in a wide variety of lengths. Some races take just under a minute as they are about 1 mile long and the "epic" races can cover as much as 100 miles and last about 45 minutes. Winning an "epic" race has huge rewards. If there was anything wrong with this game its the cops. When free-roaming around the island you'll notice police cars. Anytime a police car is near you, you have to drive under 100 mph to avoid being chased. This gets annoying after a while because sometimes you can encounter as many as 3 cop cars within a mile or two.

Even so I have never had this much fun playing a racing game. This is by far the best racing game on the Playstation Portable and one of the best racing games ever made.

オアフ島まるまるシームレスで再現した世界観は素晴らしい。島の最南端から最北端までロード画面なしで数十分かかるほど。もちろんオフロードも通れます。
レースは基本的にはチェックポイントを通過する形式であり、ライバル車はきちんと道路を走るので、オフロードを使ったショートカットもできます。
タイムアタックの中には比較的賞金が高いものがありますが、慣れるとあっさりクリアできるので、お金が貯まりにくいと言う事もありません。

また、パトカーは意外とシビアです。車に接触したり、パトカーの見えるところである速度を超えたりすると追っかけられます。

箱庭好きならオススメです。GTAの様に車から降りる事ができないので、車だけでなく歩きもほしい人には物足りないかもしれませんが、それを抜きにしてもオススメできます。

ちょっとしたセカンドライフ的扱いで購入するのも良いかもしれません。

箱庭はすごく広い。ただ同じような景色ばかりですぐに飽きる。
車の挙動もグランツーリスモみたいにリアルでもなく、リッジレーサーみたいにぶっとんだ感もなく。
レースしてもドライブしても面白くなく、楽しめる要素が無いですね。

PS3版のTDU2がけっこう売れたそうなので、是非続編をPS4で発売してほしい。

僕はＴＤＵ２の発売が延期になり、どうしてもＴＤＵが欲しくなり買いました。
ちなみにXbox360版は体験済みです。
僕は英語は一切駄目ですが、このゲームの場合、会話のやり取りがない（買い物のみ）ので気になる事はありません。
それとXbox版であった荷物を届けるとかのクエストは無くなり、レースのみです。
もうどうしてもいつでもどこでもTDUがやりたいという人にはお勧めですが、XBOX版と同様の事を期待するのは止めましょう。
