About the Author
Ben Bernstein, PhD, is a psychologist, teacher, and performance coach whose career has spanned 40 years in education, psychology, and the arts, including coaching in such diverse settings as psychiatric hospitals, prisons, primary schools, and universities. He was invited to be a resource artist at the Sundance Institute, where he worked one-on-one with writers who subsequently went on to win Pulitzer Prizes, Tony Awards, and Academy Awards. He lives in Oakland, California.

This book is beneficial to anyone in school. Whether you are in Middle or High School, College or have gone back to school as an adult, the cut right to it information is easy to follow.
Mr. Bernstein's section on Dealing with Distraction is worth the amount of the book. Distraction was my biggest culprit in school and the three tools Mr. Bernstein mentions Stop, Look At What You Are Doing, Listen and Fulfill are easy lessons to follow and will have you sitting up taller in your chair because your confidence level will get a much needed boost and your butt the kick in the pants it needs to really achieve what it is you want out of yourself.
Be the best you can be and with books like these you can't lose
Test Success was my voice to my foster kids about how to be a successful student (ever try to tell a teen anything???). I made a deal: you read this book and do what it says or listen to me nag you. They read, their grades went up, attendance at school improved, confidence in their abilities went up. That alone is priceless!
As a college instructor for test anxiety/test skills classes, the workbook was a complete course outline-- approachable, not condescending (ever try to tell a college student anything???) or minimalistic. Every line was helpful information, examples, practical how-to's etc. Also, Ben's personal letter to the class was very impactful; they felt honored by his genuine outreach to help make their lives better. Students have asked administration to make it required reading- a miracle!
In my private practice, the relaxation skills were very helpful for my anxious clients and bridged over to an anger management group I ran. Multi-purpose!
