I received the paint on Tuesday as was expected. I haven't used them yet because I'm still waiting for the model I ordered.

The set of paint contains all the colors, the paint thinner and a brush.

Every color except the metallics was very thinned out after mixing and required 3 coats to make solid. I remember testors being a good product 20 years ago when I was painting models, now the quality is terrible.

Great starter kit! It's got everything you need for basic cloth, wood, and basic metal color schemes. You have all the primaries so you can mix your own tints. If you're looking to get started painting minis, this is the kit you buy. Then you can add more specialized pre-mixed colors as you gain experience.

The great thing about these Testors paints is that they're just the right consistency for painting tiny detailed minis. The regular art-store paint you can buy is going to be much too thick for this sort of hobby.

Have been using Testors for years. Amazing the price has stayed so reasonable. Lately I have been "staining" concrete outdoor benches and animals to give them new life. I do this by diluting the paint with the thinner. I didn't want the items to look real colorful, but more muted. They look great.

Great paints if you have the patience for it. Very thick with great coverage and self leveling. Takes a long time to cure. I'd wait 24 hours for it to harden enough to handle, and a week for it to be cured enough to work with. Great deal for trying out a variety of colors. Thinner comes in a small bottle, you'll need to get a bigger bottle if you're going to use this for more than one small project.

The only paint I will ever use

When I first started building models a year ago, I used Testors acrylic paints. I liked them because they seemed to dry quickly and had less fumes than these enamel paints. However, I was never able to get a decent finish using acrylics. I always got dark or bright spots all over the model, which encouraged me to give these enamels a try.

The first time I used these, it looked absolutely awful. After doing some research online, I realized that you needed to stir the paints. (Don't laugh, I admit, I didn't know any better). When I did, my models all had a more uniform finish. Sure, these take longer to dry, and they do have fumes, but thats the price you need to pay to get a good paint job. I would like to point out that I did try to stir the acrylics, but the enamels still came out looking better.

In case some of you are wondering, this set also includes a paint brush and paint thinner. Remember to use the thinner to clean your brush (another thing I never did until recently).

We bought a box full of used Hot Wheels cars, many of which needed to be "touched up" to make them more appealing for our grandson to play with. The colors are great. One suggestion, don't attempt to stir the paint with a stick; the paint won't mix well enough. Instead, shake the bottle for about 30-60 seconds. It does include a paint brush with a "flat" cut and paint "thinner". I painted about 200 cars and have plenty of paint left over.
