Anie and Aengus share a love so true and so deep that it is soul binding and timeless. Torn apart by an evil man, Miyra, Aengus sister is able to use magic to create a spell that will give them a second chance on true love. The only problem is, will Anie be able to find him again with no memory of who she was in the past. Fast forward 200 years, Abby is haunted by dreams since she was a child. Some are nice and soothing, but some are true nightmares. Deciding she needs a vacation, she goes to Ireland. The very same place where her dreams takes her. She soon realize that these dreams may not be dreams at all, but memories.
I don't want to go into spoilers so I'll stop there. This book was and amazing and complete transforming read for me. It brings, fantasy, magic, romance, suspense and thrill all in one place. I absolutely LOVED this book!!! Jessica, I forget how I found you, but I'm so glad I did. You gave me so many emotions with this book, I cried. Fangirl forever!!
If this story hadn’t sat on my Kindle shelf for eight weeks I would’ve returned it. I’m dumbfounded I made such a bizarre purchase. Reincarnation, curses, parallel lives, two hundred year old people, an evil sorcerer; it was all easily predictable and too fantastical for my preference in reading. The writing is immature but okay in a PG13-ish sort of way. Not once did it capture my interest. There’s several timeline errors. For instance;
1. Abby has been sleeping for two days yet when she wakes up she wants to know if she went horseback riding the day before.
2. Some punctuation errors. A comma in the correct place makes all the difference in a statement. “I’m sorry, I’m an ass” becomes “I’m sorry I’m an ass”. One’s an apology. The other is saying he’s an ass and is sorry for it. I never knew if the speaker was calling himself an ass or apologizing.
Anyway, a lot more like that but the gist is, it’s a predictable, poorly executed plot. I know it’s fantasy but it was just too far fetched. The result is a contrived, melodrama fairy tale. The best part about this story was when it came to an end.
Book-2, BROKEN TETHER:
Begins in the 18th century and tells how Aine and Aengus meet and how the curse begins. Not sure exactly how people spoke in that era, but I do know they did not say “whatever”, or “shut it” or “gross”. I skimmed most of it.
Abby a painter and a little down that she don't have a partner to love and hold. When she decides to take a vacation to Ireland. When she gets there she feels like she is home. What awaits her is something she could never imagine.
Aengus has lived 200 years without his love. When she set eyes on him everything starts to change. Caipre is the evil man who took Aine away from him.
When everything thing comes to a head will Aengus and Abby be able to be together or will their love die.
Broken Tethered - Takes you back to the beginning of the love of Aine and Aengus. From the time they were little till they were grown. What would you do for the love of your life and your family. Aine makes the ultimate sacrifice for her sister and gets the wrong kind of attention from Caipre. Its a heartbreaking read that with make you cry and even laugh.
Tethered forever- is a short read about Abby and Aengus life five years later. It's a great ending to a beautiful story.
Loved this amazing characters and the flow of the story kept you on the edge till the very end.
It is the perfect blend of engaging writing, a strong & independent heroine, a leading man who is completely devoted to her, incredible secondary characters, passion, suspense, a beautiful setting, trauma wrought by an evil adversary, fantasy, magic, and, of course, LOVE. Not just the true and timeless love that Abby/Aine and Aengus share, but also love between siblings & friends, love for children & for horses, and love for the place they made their home. To me, “home” is a sense of belonging and being in your place in the world. It isn’t just the house and neighborhood you live in -- it is also the people in your life. Throughout the story, these characters found their home, took care of it, returned home, and fought for home. This is a story that I’ll definitely read again!
Each chapter brings new surprises and leaves us questioning if all is as it seems
Aengus - Abby is his soul -his life - his every reason for breathing -he lost her once he will not lose her again
Caipre -Aine is his! Now is his second chance to have the woman he covets above all others - he has waited 200 years and he has a plan -one that will ensure her soul be tethered to his for eternity
Will love and a touch of magic be enough to secure their bond or will their souls be forced apart once again?
This needs to be on your must-read list for top ten books of 2017.
