All 6 states had winds at night around 20-30 mph, this tent held up perfectly (as recommended, guide out the tent for added stability in windy conditions), temps ranged from 24 degrees - 45 degrees with snow on my last night. I was warm and very comfortable all 6 nights. I highly recommend getting this tent for local camping and/or travel camping, due to the 5 pound weight, ease of set-up/take down, definitely a perfect for airplane travel.
Only recommendation I have is to get longer stakes, if you plan on camping in windy conditions or on a beach otherwise the stakes work just fine. I have another 20 states planned to camp this year and this tent is going to all 20.
Well? Not a single drop of rain was in the tent after the storm was over. I think the process of me getting in the tent made a bigger mess than anything.
I slept out over night. Temperature got down into the low 50 Degree Fahrenheit range and I couldn't have been more comfy.
The tent was super simple to setup. I didn't even have to look at the instructions once. I think the only mistake someone could make with this tent is not having the dome tied down and tightened enough. So make sure you do that properly!
Anyway, great deal on a great tent.
The only thing I wish it did have, is buckles on the ground cover that attach to the rainfly. It has buckles on the tent, however the gound cover tends to come loose. With buckles on the ground cover, you don't need buckles on the tent..very minor issue, just a design improvement wishlist.
I got this guy for $114.50 before taxes, but I waited for it to drop and bought during off-season.
The size is great for two. plenty of room plus gear, or a dog, or both. It makes up for the few ounces of extra weight.
Set up was under 5 minutes. With rainfly, stakes, guy lines etc. Super simple, fast, and strong design
The weight packed of the tent, poles, msr stakes (optional), and footprint is 3.6-3.8 lbs. The rainfly, stakes, and guy cords add another .75 lb. Depending on if you throw out those cheap stakes out and use msr ground hogs. Overall competitively light. The rainfly is extra thick, so it adds to the extra weight. Id rather have a tougher rainfly than a super thin light one.
Price is well below competitors for the same quality and function. Included is a tough foot print and huge interior over head gear loft. There is nothing cheap about this low priced ultra light tent. A serious piece of gear.
