Tetra HT Submersible Aquarium Heater With Electronic Thermostat

Tetra's HT line of heaters are easy-to-use and work in aquariums ranging from 2 to 55 gallons. The heaters have electronic thermostats that automatically adjust heat output to keep water at a constant 78 degrees F. All HT heaters have indicator lights to let you know when the heater is on, heating the aquarium.

All Tetra HT heaters have red/green indicator lights to let you know when the heater is heating(red) or on standby(green). The low voltage thermostat maintains water at 78°F without any adjustment required. Be sure purchase the correct heater for your tank size. Buying a heater too small for your tank can cause under heating. It is critical to ensure your tank is equipped with a hood or glass canopy to contain the heat inside the aquarium. All Tetra HT Heaters will shut off if an electrical short is detected for your safety.

Tetra® HT Submersible Heater is designed to keep your aquatic fish comfortable, with an electronic thermostat that automatically maintains a consistent water temperature of 78 degrees and prevents overheating, extending heater life. An indicator light lets you know when the water is heating (red light) and when it reaches the proper temperature (green light). Inside, silicon carbide crystals improve heat distribution and transfer. The strong glass tube is heat and shock resistant. This submersible heater is easy to use – just attach to the inside of the aquarium wall using the suction cup (included) in an area with good water circulation. The Tetra HT Submersible Heater is available in different wattages to fit your aquarium: use the 50-watt HT10 in 2 to 10 gallon aquariums; 100-watt HT30 for 10 to 30 gallons; 150-watt HT40 for 30 to 40 gallons; and 200-watt HT55 for 40 to 55 gallons. I love the tetra filters and heaters, they work so good! I definitely recommend buying them on here rather than in store, in store this is 25$! It’s great for my fish, this is definitely a necessity. (I have 3 of these in all 3 tanks lol)

Works great! My fish seem happy and the temp stays at 78 degrees like it should. when i first put it in, it went up to 80 and I thought it was going to keep going up but then it stabilized. I would def buy this again - I have a 10G tank and it keeps it at a good level. Keep in mind, fish lovers, that heat does make water evaporate and you will need to add water to the tank every now and then, but it makes the fish happier (and more reproductive).

I bought 2 of these for my betta tanks, they are both around 5 gallon, the fish always seemed to be sluggish and laying around on the bottom of the tank. I read they liked slightly warm water so I bought these after checking pricing at my local pet store. The same exact one at Meijer was double this price, which worried me if it was going to be decent.

I plugged them both in , obviously one in each tank, attached the suction cups, there was nothing to adjust at all, the red light came on saying it was working, after about an hour it turned green which meant it had reached proper temp, I felt the water and it was not really warm but more slightly warmer than room temp. But before it was quite cool to the touch, almost cold. Within less than an hour later both fish were swimming all over the place.

This was 4 days ago and it although it still is early I have to say this was a great buy. The fish continue to seem happier, more active, eating better, cant believe how much a difference it made.

So far , so good. I love my fish, dumb I know, but bettas are so unique and have personalities I'm just sure of it, lol! I feel like a much better fish owner having got these heaters and making the fish more comfortable, and I could swear their colors seem brighter, a side effect perhaps? This is a great price , it works like it said it would and it adjusts the temp in the water automatically. I cant complain at all about this product.

So far this is amazing! We got our daughter a betta for Christmas. This sweet kiddo is obsessed with animals, but her betta was not super happy...The tank has to sit a bit closer to a window than we would like, but that's where we have the space. It makes the water cold, and that poor thing was nearly dormant. A little research later and we ordered this. Easy solution, and no fuss no muss. This is our kind of heater.

Pros:

1) literally plug and play. Be sure to follow the super easy, one step set-up directions, but it is easy and quick to have this thing in the water and working.

2) no need to mess with anything. It is supposed to keep your water between 78 and 80 degrees. We do have an infrared temp gun, and we have measured twice to see...once it was 77, and once 78, so pretty accurate! I don't worry about this baking our fish, as some heaters have been reported to do.

3) FISH is HAPPY! Bells, as our fish is known loves to sleep near this thing, and it way more active the remainder of the time. It has truly made him happier and more amusing for her. Interesting to know that bettas aren't really all that lazy and boring, but rather they really need the right environment. Consider this if your betta is not happy!

Cons:

1) this is a bit bigger than I had anticipated. We have a 2.5 gallon tank, and this is the smallest tank I would use it for.

2) the suction cup is not perfect. IT doesn't come off, but this is a long enough tube that I wish they had put two suction cups on it. Since it is holding well, I am leaving this at 5 stars, but it would look better if it clung to the side better.

All in all this is a GREAT heater, and has made our little fishie's life far better!

This heater has worked great after my last one died suddenly. It doesn't have the option to change the temperature, but for my needs, that is no issue. I do hope there is no chance for the regulation to fail, however, I have it plugged into a temperature controller anyway, so I will know if it goes too high or too low. So far no issues. Using it in a 10-gallon tank.
