This is the album that Lupe has wanted to make since 2008-2010, high-concept lyricism and varied production. You get an album cover he painted himself, and that's what he does with his bars all over this album on songs like "Mural", "Prisoner 1 & 2"(which is 2 songs in one), "Body Of Work", "Little Death", "Deliver"(which he does), "Madonna(And Other Mothers In The Hood)", "Adoration Of The Magi", and "They.Resurrect.Over.New". These aren't all the songs, of course, and they're broken up by these interludes titled after the seasons. Nothing for the streets? Lupe's got a 9-minute posse cut on here called "Chopper" featuring Billy Blue, Buk(of Chicago underground legends Psychodrama), Trouble, Trae Tha Truth, Fam-Lay, and Glasses Malone that must be heard to be believed. He's got some long ones here by himself, but it's all king s***. You must sit down and listen to this one, absorb it.

Although the entire project only clocks in at 22 and a half minutes, it has already proven to be a highly welcomed release and serves as the first major drop from Lupe since he released his seventh studio album in the extended double disc DROGAS Wave back in September 2018, which featured Damian Marley, Nikki Jean and Simon Sayz amongst others. The new House EP by Lupe Fiasco and Kaelin Ellis is out now on all major streaming platforms

Luckily for me, this album arrived at my home the day the city decided to mess with the gas lines. since this album is straight fire, I was able to place the kettle on top of it and have boiling water within moments. It even doubled as a replacement for the pilot light when it went out on the coldest night thus far this year.

Obviously the best album of our generation, but you don't need reviews to tell you that. I personally enjoy reversing the track order and listening to the story of a kid growing up.

Best hip hop album of all time... for real... NO joke. Make sure you look up the lyrics online. Depth like you couldn't believe. And what makes it brilliant is that the production is filled with real instrumentation - unique, moody, moving music that transcends basic radio rap, and practically creates a genre all its own. Lupe has been my favorite rapper since he dropped "The Cool". And "Tetsuo & Youth" solidified his place as #1 on MY list of "top 5 dead or alive". This album was overshadowed by Kendrick Lamar's release, but the brilliance of this album far eclipses Kendrick's. Brotha is good, but he ain't seein Lupe... NO ONE IS!!!

Tetsuo and Youth is Lupe Fiasco's most artistic album, here's why. His first two albums were his hip hop purest albums. His next album, Lasers was his forced pop rap album, to make some money and radio hits. The next one, F&L 2 was his more political and historical album. Then he made this album and truly showed his skills. From the interludes (4 seasons) to the sonically pleasing instrumentals, the cover of the album (which he painted himself, it's called "Man eating Tiger") to the deeply layered wordplay, Lupe created a true work of art. The replay value is definitely there. One example of the replay value is the few listen one has to do in order to get some of the double entendre's, metaphors and narratives going on in the album. If you're a Lupe fan, get the album. If you have never listened to Lupe before and this is going to be your first time, don't get it just yet. Go and listen to his other albums/ mixtapes and work your way up to this. Loved the album, this will go down as one of the best of 2015 and years to come....

Awesome album. After his last album he said he was hanging up the mic so lots of his fans, including myself weren't expecting to hear anything new. He sneaked this album in on us and I'm so glad he did because it was great. Hope he keeps making music for years to come. A very real message and great poetry set to solid beats. True hip hop artist like Lupe have a lot more to talk about than the women they use, the money they waste, the communities they abuse and the lifestyles they don't really live outside of the fake music videos they pose in.

What a great start to 2015. This is Lupe's best work since The Cool, and that was 8 years ago! This album is an instant classic. I loved the whole thing, all the way through. He's set the bar very high this year. Great music. Buy it and support a real artist. It not only sounds great but it's also very intelligent. No mindless raps here. Rapping with a purpose. The production is also awesome. Cheers to this!

It's taken me a long time to review this album. It continues to grow on me and although at one point I contemplated only giving it 4 stars, I seriously think this could be a classic. I have not heard Kendrick's album but still don't believe it can be this good. When I first bought it I was listening to J Cole's Forrest Hills and it puts that album to shame. The majority of hip hop I listen to is underground but I'm glad I found this mainstream gem.

Masterpiece, been listening to it for over a month and still can't get enough. Lyrics are on godlike level, great production across the whole album and Nikki Jean is on there, which is always nice. Can't single out a favorite track, because all of them are so good, but Mural, T.R.O.N. and Body of Work are insane. Would buy more copies for my friends if I had extra cash.
