The ethereal lady in white still haunts the spring of Sweetgrass Springs, Texas. But the town is no longer dying. The new generation of the Gallagher family are breathing life, hopes and dreams back into the community.
At Christmas, the Gallagher clan gathers again to celebrate the return of the prodigals, Jackson and Penelope back home. Both have achieved professional success, but their personal lives have suffered. They have returned to face old angers and rebuild relationships.
Jackson has Veronica and her children in his life again. The twin girls adore him. But their son, Ben struggles with his devotion to the father who raised him, and his growing affection for his biological father. Jackson's sensitivity to Ben's feelings allows the boy the freedom to seek a resolution from within himself.
There is no doubt that Penelope loves Bridger Calhoun, and wants to marry him. But she is reluctant to take the leap of faith. Her return to Sweetgrass is because of Bridger. This is the home he has sought all his life. She just needs to name a day and time for the ceremony.
Gallagher cousins from Morning Star and the Marshalls are here to help with the rebuilding not only buildings, but restoring lives.
There will be a Texas country Christmas for everyone, but will there be a wedding? Could there possibly be two weddings?
Each book in this series has drawn me further into the town and families who move in. I love this series.
Definitely a recommended.
The story emphasizes what the people of Sweetgrass are all about. Everyone gets their HEA, and the kids in the book are really sweet. You also get to revisit the Gallaghers of Morning Star, and the Marshalls.
