Editorial Reviews

Review

"As usual, Carolyn Brown's writing was superb. This was a lovely romance that had some light humor, funny hijinks and cat fighting. The vivid characters came to life in my imagination and made it easy to visualize them and for me that is the best thing about reading books. I enjoyed this one so much I can't wait for the next book in the series. I highly recommend it!!! Reviewer Top Pick!" - Night Owl Review

"Brown's latest is filled with quirky characters and a healthy dose of humor, as the feuding families constantly try to outdo one another with their crazy antics. Yet the highlight of the novel is the sweet and sensual romance between Leah and Rhett. " - Publishers Weekly

"An intense feud between two families and a contentious love triangle make up Brown's latest. Readers will fall in love with Rhett and Leah and their genuinely sweet, sizzling chemistry. A delightful story with a charming, laid-back cowboy and a good blend of humor and sexy tension makes this one entertaining read." - RT Book Reviews, 4.5 Stars, TOP PICK!

The concept of the feuding families was running a bit thin on this third book. There was no resolution which probably left room for more books in the series. The families were still a mess even though there was some end in sight. This was just OK.

I have read almost all of Carolyn Brown's books and I love them all! This book is no exception!! I absolutely loved it!!! I really liked Rhett and Leah. They had great chemistry and were well developed characters (as all Carolyn Brown's characters are). The feud between the two families was as funny as in the other books in this series. If you like hot cowboy romances, you should definitley read this book!!!! I also highly recommend all of
Carolyn Brown's books!!!!! I don't know how she makes all her books different yet so enjoyable, but I'm so glad she does! I can't wait for the next book in the series!!!

ONE TEXAS COWBOY TOO MANY is the perfect read for anyone looking for a good laugh. It's sweet, sassy, chaotic in an entertaining way and so very funny!

Leah Brennan has always had a crush on Tanner Gallagher but the long running and legendary feud between their families means that nothing can come of her feelings for him. Leah has been the good girl, quiet, obedient and malleable and would never go against the wishes of her grandmother, the matriarch of their family in any way, especially by getting involved with a Gallagher. But all that changes when Rhett O’Donnell rides into town on his bike and brings Leah's hunger for a walk on the wild side to life.

Cowboy Rhett O’Donnell is in Burnt Boot, Texas to help out family temporarily but finds his attention snagged by blonde beauty, Leah Brennan. Pursuing his interest in Leah lands him in the middle of an ongoing feud but he won't let such a little (or big) thing stand in the way of what he wants.

But the path to happiness is not easy. Between dueling matriarchs and a former love interest with ulterior motives, the town of Burnt Boot is waiting with bated breath to see how Leah and Rhett's romance plays out.

This story got my attention about five pages in and I knew I was in for a fun time, a promise that was delivered on big-time. The Brennan-Gallagher feud is quite over the top but is a central part of this story and right off the bat there are a lot of characters to meet, which makes it a little confusing at times but adds to the entertainment. The entire story is sometimes funny, sometimes annoying, sometimes silly, and a lot stinky but there is never a dull moment when these families do battle.

I enjoyed both Leah and Rhett's characters very much.

Carolyn Brown takes readers back to Burnt Boot, Texas in her latest book, One Texas Cowboy Too Many. Fans of the author know that when it comes to cowboy romances, Brown is one of the best. This is sweet, sensual romance that happens to be taking place in the middle of a one hundred year feud. Humor abounds, sexy characters explode off the page and Brown scores another hit. A great new book from Carolyn Brown!

What I liked:

This is what I always like about Carolyn Brown books. Great characters! Brown somehow knows what a reader believes a cowboy or a rancher should be like. I think it takes a certain kind of person to understand the lifestyle and the way of life that Brown writes about and she does it with such ease. Her cowboys are real men. They don't shy away from responsibility. Family means everything and being apart of something that is bigger than yourself is just part of the daily routine. When I think western or cowboy romance, I automatically think, Carolyn Brown.

Brown obviously had a great idea when she created the Burnt Boot series. Many readers are familiar with feuding families whether it's their own or some other family, like the Hatfields and McCoys. Readers are also aware that ranching is notorious for being one of those businesses that tends to foster bad blood. It's an interesting premise, but what makes it so fun to read about in this series, is the humor that goes along with it. The Brennan's and the Gallagher's take feuding to a whole new level. Their antics are both ingenious and hilarious in most cases. But they are soooo serious about it. Took some great skills to pull this one off and Brown does it well.

Leah Brennan is a school teacher, but she is also the future of the Brennan family and with that comes a lot of responsibility.

Title: One Texas Cowboy Too Many

Series: Burnt Boot Texas #3

Author: Carolyn Brown

Genre: Romance, Western

Blurb: Leah Brennan is a member of the Brennan family. One of the feuding families of Burnt Boot. She is sweet, thoughtful, quiet, and nothing like her feuding kin. She would love nothing better than to see an end to the feud between the Brennans and the Gallaghers. Since she was in school she has always had a crush on Tanner Gallagher, but being a Brennan she knew that he was the untouchable, off-limits too the likes of her. But when Rhett O’Donnell rides into down on a steal horse, her crush on Tanner, her feelings for him seem to take a back seat and the only person she can see is Rhett.

Rhett wants nothing to do with the feud between the Brennans and the Gallaghers, but he wants to have something with the sweet, sexy Leah Brennan, who is innocent and unassuming. There is something about her that calls to his soul, makes him want to spend time with her, protect her and help her in any way that he can.

But when the feud takes a turn from the Pig Wars, to the S*** Wars, and Leah finds herself in the middle of Rhett and Tanner, both looking for her attention, she is beginning to wonder if she could have one cowboy too many on her hands.

Thoughts:I love how Carolyn started the story as a love triangle that changed in a very short time into an intense bond between Rhett and Leah. It became clear to Leah after several stalker like moves that Tanner was trying to use Leah’s crush on him to cause more harm to the Brennan family and he along with is cousin will do anything to break Leah and Rhett apart.
