"As usual, Carolyn Brown's writing was superb. This was a lovely romance that had some light humor, funny hijinks and cat fighting. The vivid characters came to life in my imagination and made it easy to visualize them and for me that is the best thing about reading books. I enjoyed this one so much I can't wait for the next book in the series. I highly recommend it!!! Reviewer Top Pick!" - Night Owl Review
"Brown's latest is filled with quirky characters and a healthy dose of humor, as the feuding families constantly try to outdo one another with their crazy antics. Yet the highlight of the novel is the sweet and sensual romance between Leah and Rhett. " - Publishers Weekly
"An intense feud between two families and a contentious love triangle make up Brown's latest. Readers will fall in love with Rhett and Leah and their genuinely sweet, sizzling chemistry. A delightful story with a charming, laid-back cowboy and a good blend of humor and sexy tension makes this one entertaining read." - RT Book Reviews, 4.5 Stars, TOP PICK!

The decades long feud, which includes one upsmanship and not so practical jokes, between the families is a major component of the storyline.
The two matriarch's of the families rule through fear. Continually threatening to kick members off the respective homesteads, dis-inherit, and possibly make them a target of the attacks. These acts are escalating in violence, especially burning buildings and fires on ranches.
I may re-read this story and always look forward to works by this author.
