A book about Flappers and the 1920s led me here. I had not heard of Texas Guinan before . In the wonderful way that one book leads to another, this curious detour illuminated another aspect of feminism in the last century. If you have any interest in this subject matter, suggest reading this along with a biography of O'Henry, another refugee from Texas who found success in New York City as well as the book on Flappers by J. Zeitz and The Poisoners' Handbook , which covers the period of Prohibition in great detail. All are non fiction.
