This reviewer is talking about James J. Griffin and his new book TEXAS JEOPARDY, A Texas Ranger James C. Blawcyzk Novel
James J. Griffin is a famous author rated number 118 on Ranker’s Best Western Authors list. On Wikipedia he is also recognized as a Western Author and a contributor of historical memorabilia to the Texas Ranger Museum in Waco. His books are on Amazon.com and frequently remain on the 100 best seller list. As a fellow Western Author, I have been following Griffin’s writing and career for a long time. He consistently honors Texas Rangers by writing about them. His output is enormous.
If you want to read a story about how Texas Rangers handle modern criminals in the WEST, this is the novel to read. In this book you will get a fascinating insight into how 5th generation Ranger Blawcyzk uses strict radio protocol, investigates murder crime scenes, and follows modern forensic procedures. In the story, Ranger Blawcyzk is involved in a shootout and is forced to kill a drug dealer. Follow the ranger as he deals with an internal affairs investigation of the killing while also being assigned to investigate a major drug smuggling ring and a series of murders in the counties of his jurisdiction.
Being an officer of the law can affect the safety of one’s family. Griffin writes a suspenseful scene where Ranger Blawcyzk dramatically and effectively deals with killers trying to shoot his wife, child, and mother.
It is very evident that a lot of research went into this book and that Griffin used his contacts through the Texas Rangers and museum to gain information. I wouldn’t be surprised that during his visits to Texas (whether he can reveal it or not) that Jim researched ranger reports, visited an advanced training school for Texas Rangers, went on a ride-along, and observed police procedure for gathering evidence during a real life murder scene. The book is that realistic. Griffin also cites securing further inside knowledge through his friend, Texas Ranger James Huggins and family, to whom Griffin dedicates this book.
TEXAS JEOPARDY is an interesting and fascinating read for anyone. And, for those who like to read about the WEST and Texas Rangers, it will be especially gratifying. This may very well be James J. Griffin’s best Texas Ranger book to date.
I give thumbs up on an extremely well-written book and rate it five stars.
Charlie Steel, Author
The thing that comes across to me is that the writer either knows his stuff really well or he researches well until he is ready to set off on the adventure, because authenticity drips from the pages of every one of his novels. This novel is no exception.
Please keep writing these adventures, Mr Griffin. I have enjoyed every one that I have read and I hope to read a lot more.
Sixth generation Jim Blawcyzk, Texas Ranger, takes on the drug cartel, which lands him in a bit of a hot water. Restless from administrative leave while an investigation continues he is driven to play volleyball with the fish and train his bass for the Olympics. Laugh out loud.
Restitution deserved, Jim hits the trail as he unravels the serial type, mysterious murders of several elderly woman. Jim’s works of mystery include a dash of good humor and romance with his loving family.
Being an avid reader Of Jim’s work over the past 15 years I can see his writings continue to progress. Stories he has written contain great knowledge of authentic cowboy ways, the life and times of Texas Rangers in the rugged Texas terrain, which transition into modern day situations. Definitely a Five star rating from this ole’ cowgirl.
When dedicated Texas Ranger, Jim Blawcyzk and his family are targeted for murder, he must protect them as he attempts to uncover the head of an international drug ring. Hampered by protocol, successive attempts on his life, unexplained murders, and a backlog of cases, Ranger Blawcyzk vows to bring the guilty to justice while keeping those he cherishes safe from harm
Texas Jeopardy is a fast-paced novel with memorable characters, detailed descriptions of crime scene investigations, and deep insight into the professional lives of today’s Texas Rangers.
