Sweetgrass Springs is a heavenly town, no doubt about it! This latest story in a word ~ sweet! Ms. Brashear has done it again, bringing our favorite people in this special place, together, shenanigans and all.

Brenda and Henry, working together at Ruby's Diner have enjoyed an amazing friendship, which for Henry, has turned into love. But, he feels Brenda is too young for him at 18, although he is only 23. Brenda, who has been rejected all her life, yearns for love and the protection that Henry offers. Sweetgrass Springs welcomed Brenda with open arms, when she arrived a year ago, but mystery surrounds her background, which she is struggling to keep secret.

There are many wonderful facets in this book yet the only thing I missed was a more passionate connection between Brenda and Henry. I love romance, strong and independent characters, but I also want to feel their emotions in a more visceral way. I have rated this 4 stars because of this, as the ending didn't feel complete.

I hope the next Sweetgrass Springs book is about Jeanette, with some follow up on Brenda's Mom. Thanks for so many hours of reading pleasure!

Brenda finds a place in Sweetgrass where she waitresses at Ruby’s Cafe and works at the flower farm and hopes to have a florist shop someday. She also worries about having run away from the foster care system and feels she is inadequate because her mother just left her with no explanation.

Henry is a sweet young man whose parents were killed in a car accident. He was raised by his grandmother and when she could no longer manage he took care of her until her death.

They both arrive in Sweetgrass where the town and it’s culture surrounds and supports them. Well written characters whose story adds to the earlier legends.

Add the new addition of Blue and all the stalwart citizens of Sweetgrass and this becomes a marvelous coming of age story. I'm expecting marvelous actions and growth from Brenda and Henry in the Sweetgrass stories to come. They are truly children of this delightful community and the Lady of the Spring, even if they weren't born and raised there.
