This is a fantastic story. Written by one of my favourite authors, I found this book was live at 3 am and I started to read it right away. Full of surprises and a mystery or two and I could not put it down. I felt an instant connection to Magdalay. She is so sweet and going through so much. She is also very strong as she refused to surrender to her pain and grief. She picks herself up and did what she could to make things better for herself with a little help from her friends and a sexy PI that has troubles of his own.
Like most of Ms Wright's stories, this one has a feel good, awww quality to it. I can not wait to read it again and again!
I really liked the character of Carter. He is fierce and protective, but gentle and sweet at the same time. I love that he could shift into different forms of cat and not just one version. As for Magdalay, she started out very annoying and weak. I prefer a heroine that is strong and kick ass, so she annoyed me for most of the story. But, she does come around and by the end of the book I found myself actually liking her. Not loving her, though. I did enjoy her lack of control over her powers – it was my favorite part of her.
Overall, this is a fun, cute, suspenseful, mysterious, fantasy story that I enjoyed reading.
