Randall Mackey had never found a place anywhere in the world that felt like home. As a teenager, the six years he lived in Sweetgrass Springs, Texas came closest to providing emotional stability in his life. As an adult, he built a life of adventure through the Navy Seals and as a Hollywood stuntman. Lots of adrenalin but no stability or real, forever and ever love.
Clarissa or Rissa Gallagher has never left home. She is stuck trying to make a living on the family ranch and survive her bitter, domineering father. Her emotional security is as the healer of abused horses and people. Life is tough, but Rissa is tougher.
After a stunt gone big-time bad, Mackey returns to find Sweetgrass Springs and Rissa slowly dying. Can he make a difference for both the town and woman? Can Rissa heal and tame the "wild child?"
After several years in the Seals and being a sought after stunt man in Hollywood, he has now cone back to Sweetgrass Springs to rest up from an accident on the movie set.
His return starts many things in motion. The biggest question is...Will he leave again or will he stay and become part of the community?
I think I like this book better than the previous ones. There was just something about the people in this small town. Definitely a good read.
