"Enlightenment Now: The Case for Reason, Science, Humanism, and Progress"
Is the world really falling apart? Is the ideal of progress obsolete? Cognitive scientist and public intellectual Steven Pinker urges us to step back from the gory headlines and prophecies of doom, and instead, follow the data: In seventy-five jaw-dropping graphs, Pinker shows that life, health, prosperity, safety, peace, knowledge, and happiness are on the rise. Ramsey, dear God the man is hot, sweet, beyond sexy, humble...his mess ups are because of embarrassment and I can honestly say I don't blame him. The way he handled the fall out of him not disclosing some of his past? Humble, broken, devastation, vulnerable, emotional...everything every women would like their man to be in that situation as well as others. He wasn't afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve and that's why I love him so much. His love for his dad, their relationship, how he handled it, just precious and I could relate because that's how I was with my dad. His love for his mom, sister Reagan and Roman jumped right out of the pages and straight into your heart. Really, the entire family was so supportive of one another, loved each other, fiercely and powerfully. Genius of these authors, pure genius.
Dani, oh, how I love Dani from how she was first introduced with no backbone, incapable of saying no. I loved how the authors allowed us to watch her grow into standing up for herself after much advice from Ram and Andie. Her quirkiness is so cute, endearing, bittersweet at times and well, just Dani, imperfectly perfect. Honestly, read it and you'll see there's nothing to not love about Dani. If someone finds fault, shame on them because she is a gorgeous, pure, honest, genuine and humble individual, intelligently and skillfully written about, again, genius of these two authors.
Andie, oh my God, I wish I had a friend that funny! She killed it, her mouth, humor, loyalty and actions made this book a phenomenal crazy read. Tough, rough and ready to come to blows at any time, any place, any where and at anyone. Her and Roman, her actions with him, their wicked, crass banter some of the best I've ever read. Lots and lots of laugh out loud moments. I literally, was reading in bed last night at 2 a.m. while my husband was sleeping I was giggling so loud with tears pouring from my eyes hoping I wouldn't wake him. Yes, their comments, the back and forth between them is that funny, that good.
Roman, Big, moody and then suddenly his slick, crass personality comes out in bright, vibrant rainbow colors. Him and Andie, the stuff she did and said to him, so, so off the charts funny. I refuse to give any spoilers here, just read it to see what I mean, please. You won't be sorry, I promise. I usually don't start reading a series anymore unless all the books are out but I'm so happy I took a chance on this one. I can't wait for Roman and Andie's book... explosive, I'm sure the fireworks will be much, much more than the fourth of July! I can't wait to laugh that much again. I will be re-reading this over and over again.
The one liners here, some of the best I've ever read, just to name a few - Kylie Scott (Stage Dive Series, Malcolm Ericson drummer), Max Monroe (another duo author series Tapping the Billionaire) and right before this book Egomaniac by Vi Keeland. Text 2 Lovers and Egomaniac, both books are phenomenal, home runs, touch downs, blow it out of the park worthy. I only leave reviews if either the book is that great, I really dislike it or am disturbed by it; exceptions are only if an author I'm very familiar with asks for an opinion either way.
Cliffhanger, no, just informing there's Andie and Roman's book releasing next. Sex, yes, hot and steamy, too. Cheating, nope. Story, incredible. Cursing, you betcha and totally necessary, causing uncontrollable laugh out loud moments. If this offends you, this isn't the book for you, but to repeat myself you're missing out. Big time.
I was not asked to give my review and am not a friend of either author. This is my honest review. This is the first time I've read anything by either author and will not be my last.
*I want to apologize in advance, because this is a little ranty*
I wanted to smack the h so bad! She became so obnoxiously dramatic over something that I found really confusing.
I liked the side characters, but I felt like the story for the h and H was overshadowed by their story. There was too much focus on them and time spent in setting up their book that I think we lost the h and H's story. The whole "epilogue" was about the other couple! It didn't even address the h and H! I hate that. If we want to have the other story set up so much, this should've just been a pre-novella about them! I did get some laughs out of their banter and insults though.
Overall I think I enjoyed the first half of the book that dealt with the texting conversations, but it just fizzled out into a frustrating mess for me.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Dani and Ram's story. Dani is freshly broken up with her cheating boyfriend when she gets drunk one night and sends some uncharacteristic texts to Ram's phone by accident. Ram is in a bad place after getting wrongly fired from his job, and he is happy for the first time in a long time after texting back and forth with Dani. They eventually meet, date, have some sexy times, and fall in love. There is some side love/hate action going on with Dani's best friend and Ram's brother, and some ex drama...but they get a HFN ending.
POV: This alternated between Dani and Ram's POV (with a few sections in Andie and Roman's POV).
Overall Pace of Story: Ok. I never skimmed, but it did feel like it slowed down once they physically get together.
Instalove: No, they take a little bit to develop stronger feelings.
H rating: 3.5 stars. Ram. He was alright. I thought he got a little too dramatic also, but I appreciated how he cared (and showed he cared) for the h.
h rating: 1 stars. Dani. I lost all like I had for her when she didn't give the H a chance to explain what had happened. She was OTT dramatic IMO, and that's not the type of h I want to root for!
Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed.
Heat level: Moderate. They have pretty good tension, chemistry, and scenes.
Descriptive sex: Yes
OW/OM drama: Yes
Sex scene with OW or OM: No
Closure: This had not so great closure with what I would call a HFN ending. The epilogue was all about setting up the next book in the series (which bugs me).
How I got it: I paid the $2.99 for it on Amazon.
