Thaddeus Spae was born long ago in a galaxy far, far away and came to Earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men and of dubious utility. He attended Reed College and the Evergreen State College, achieving in 1975 the exalted status of Bachelor of Arts in music, thereafter embarking upon a career of wandering minstrelsy, vaudeville support, lounge performance, self-indulgence, sloth and mythos construction.
Thaddeus is an award-winning songwriter and composer whose work has been presented on Showtime cable TV, NPR and Broadway, choreographed by the Paul Taylor Dance Troupe and recorded for broadcast by the BBC. He has worked with The Flying Karamazov Brothers, Baby Gramps, Artis The Spoon Man and other New Vaudeville artists, and with his wife Sandahbeth he performed for thirty years in the folk duo Amber Tide.
His lifelong interest in writing expresses itself chiefly through songwriting and his essay website The Thaddeus Gazette (thaddeusgazette.com), operating semi-continuously since 1996, which in Internet years is, well, since 1996.
