Calling this a Creative Cosmetics lab is misleading. This lab kit does not make any cosmetics, just bath products. In this kit you can make sugar and salt scrubs, bath salts, bath bombs, bath soaps, shower soap dough, shower soap jellies and a lip scrub. Both my son and daughter enjoyed making the bath products together.
There are 16 activities to do. Instructions were easy to understand. Throughout the instruction booklet, there is an explanation for what is happening and additional scientific information about skin and skin care products. This comes with a nice sized fragrance oil that is not overpowering and blue and red cosmetic dyes. Additional ingredients needed are : vegetable oil, dried herbs/flowers, sugar,liquid dish soap, gelatin, and bath gel.
The melt and pour soap is easy to make and you can get really creative with it by adding a variety dried flowers, colors, and scents. My son liked making the shower bath jellies and actually looks forward to bath time now that he has his own special soaps.
Overall, I am satisfied with this kit and the children had fun doing the activities. The two included soap molds could be thicker plastic and adding a second fragrance oil would have been a nice addition for this price point
