That being said, they aren't hilarious jokes. I didn't really laugh out loud while reading any part of this book, but nothing really made me roll my eyes or say "the author probably didn't even come up with that themselves. They probably read that somewhere online and stole it" which is what happens when I read a lot of joke books. You might have heard a couple of these jokes before, but that's probably because they're easy puns or generally not that clever or creative, which can be a good quality about jokes. You don't want anything too stretched that may not make sense when you're telling it. I read a couple jokes I thought were pushing it, but I did understand most every joke in this book.
I'll be honest, I didn't finish the thing. I got about halfway through, and, unless some dramatic turn of direction happens, I felt like I got a pretty good feel for the book. There was nothing really pushing me to want to read more of it. I feel like maybe at Thanksgiving I might whip it out and test a few of the jokes on people or read more of it, but this isn't really a book I'd read all at once in one sitting at a time months away from the holiday. I'd read bits of it around Thanksgiving to different people, mostly family members, and I think kids especially could get a good chuckle out of some of the more simpler jokes.
All in all, it's an okay book. Not the worst joke book I've read, but not the most clever either. There is no false advertising here, though. If you want a joke book about Thanksgiving, this is your book right here.
