Editorial Reviews

Eric Forman is a typical high school student growing up in Wisconsin in 1976 with his family and his friends. Together, they have the same kind of joys and sorrows that just about every teenager has while growing up. This show parodied many of the attitudes, events and fads of the 70s, along with those who grew up at the time.

Do you like to revisit favorite old TV shows at the holidays? Me, too. This was just what I was looking for; and unlike other holiday collections, this set is unique in that it features Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine's Day episodes. Some of the episodes are better than others, but I think the episodes below rated 4 and above are well worth watching any time, and the others are worth watching when all the stores are closed.

For those who've already seen these episodes once, and just want more detailed episode descriptions to jog your memory, here they are, with SPOILERS.

Season 1: Thanksgiving, 4.5 stars
Eric's sister Laurie brings her friend Kate home for Thanksgiving and Kate stirs up trouble when she comes on to Eric and kisses him. The family sits down to Thanksgiving dinner and realizes that no one remembered to pick up Grandma.

Season 1: The Best Christmas Ever, 5 stars
Eric gets permission to have a Christmas party in the basement. Red gives Eric money to buy the family Christmas tree, but the guys chop down a tree on the interstate and keep the money for beer. And Hyde wants to buy a special Christmas gift for Donna.

Season 1: The First Date, 4.5 stars
Eric takes Donna to dinner at the Vineyard for their first date and plans to ask her to be his girlfriend. Hyde, who's not going down without a fight, shows up at the restaurant to plead his case with Donna.

Season 2: Halloween, 4 stars
Shocking secrets are revealed when the kids find their permanent records during a Halloween visit to their old elementary school. Red and Kitty remember Halloween, 1957, the night Kitty finds out she's pregnant.

DVD is great. But it is missing one episode from season 7. You Can't Always Get What You Want. Eric attempts to go to a Styx concert on Thanksgiving. But Kitty is upset that he wants to do so rather than celebrate Thanksgiving with his family.

The holiday episodes from the series all on one disc. When you want a certain holiday episode it's easier to just pull one disc out instead of trying to remember what season what episode was on. We enjoy watching the holiday episodes that go with a particular holiday.

It's nice to be able to watch this show on Netflix, for free... but it's even nicer to have the holiday seasons for Christmas viewing. Fun show. I didn't think I'd like it when my husband introduced me to it, but it grows on you.

Current complete series that is available on the market. Came factory sealed. Amazon had the best price of anyone via the web when I was shopping. I had only bought books from Amazon but my son told me about buying DVD's and Amazon's good prices so I checked it out. I am very pleased with this purchase.

This show is one of the best "sit-coms" of all time. It's a great emsemble cast that keep the audience entertained season after season. Though the show is set in the 70s, the relationships and situation are somewhat timeless.
