5.0 out of 5 stars Spellbinding 1920s Mystery Speaks to the 2020s
By L. Kennis on November 18, 2021
From the first paragraph, I knew this book would be difficult to set aside. It has a strong and silky voice that called me to keep reading until the last secret was revealed.

I don’t specifically gravitate to mysteries--I read many types of fiction, but after basking in this particular book, I have a new appreciation for the mystery genre. And I love how the author weaves wonderful, thought-provoking insights about humanity and social structure into a plotline set in 1920s Colorado.

If you're in a book club, you'll find great discussion questions at the end that will spark a lively discussion.

The characters are vividly drawn, sometimes delightfully ambiguous, and hard to forget. I definitely look forward to reading the next novel Patricia Raybon writes about the brave 1920s woman, Annalee Spain.
