ThatGrin LLC is a family owned and operated business of Tesla owners and enthusiasts with extensive backgrounds in metal crafting, product engineering and product design. The Slipstream Bracket was created to offer Tesla owners a much better option for attaching a front license plate and avoiding a “failure to display” ticket of upwards to $200 for incident. Prior to developing this product, Tesla owners only had two options to avoid being ticketed: 1) Use the factory provided bracket and apply strong adhesive tape directly to the factory finish and/or drill holes straight through the bumper, permanently ruining and diminishing the value of the vehicle, or 2) Attach an aftermarket “no-drill” bracket directly to the plastic grille using a bunch of nuts, bolts and hardware ultimately blocking the critical cold air intakes and leading to drivetrain inefficiency, warranty concerns and premature failure of the delicate plastic grille and louvers. Neither option is worth the risk and leaving the front license plate completely off always leave you vulnerable to tickets and another reason for an officer to pull over a Tesla. The Slipstream Bracket is completely different. It is designed to be installed or removed, on demand. The Patent Pending design is the only solution designed to transfer forces away from the delicate plastic grille and downward toward the more substantial front air dam. It effectively absorbs vibration, shock and wind force better than any other product. And, as a security measure, the Slipstream Bracket can be locked into place using the single provided L-key tool. It’s the perfect secure, quick release, self-contained front license plate mounting solution for Tesla owners who want to avoid tickets and protect their vehicle while still being able to quickly and easily unlock and remove the entire front license plate and complete assembly whenever desired.

I have been working on cars, buying after market parts/mods my entire life. The execution of this product is brilliant. I am amazed not only by the product which I know by the quality will last as long as I own the car, but the instructions and packaging is spot on. This seller/inventor/developer deserves a serious high five. What an amazing product, easy to use, and built to last. Those complaining about price, well, go buy a cheap knockoff, I spent good money on my car and I want a superior product. I’ve already got one front license plate ticket in Portland, not looking for another this year. This is the perfect accessory for the best engineered vehicle to date. Plus if you want to go to a car show and have no front plate, no big deal, remove it in 2 mins or less. Thanks again for the amazing solution/product.

This is by far the most expensive license plate mounting hardware I've purchased, but it's pretty damn good.

The packaging and install process was great. I had absolutely no problems reading the included instructions and figuring out how to install it. Overall, it took me about 10 minutes from unboxing to finish and I did not need any additional tools.

I had a silicone plate frame that was a little on the thicker side and unfortunately made the screw end caps unusable since there wasn't enough screw to put them on, so I removed the frame. I think a standard/thinner plate frame should work just fine.

There's a little bit of clearance between the bumper and the screws, so you definitely want those ends covered with the included caps to prevent damage to your bumper in the off chance that someone bumps against your plate. I've pushed against the mounting hardware a bunch and it seems that worrying about the hardware snapping your grill is unnecessary. If someone backs into your car hard enough to make your mounting hardware snap your grill, they've probably already crumpled through your front bumper anyways.
