This story is really cute, not scary at all, very short and meant for very young children. I wish they were still commonly sold in the USA but I would recommend almost all of these touchy feely books by Usborne if you come across them.
Keep in mind British English is a bit different, so some words might seem weird to Americans. I recommend just changing it when you read, if you can't relate to some of the words. It's the textures and pictures that are the best part of these books for young children.
2018 update: The Very First baby's book is still one of the most favorite! This book pretty much got us on Usborne train we still ride. Steady. And it's because this company consistently does an amazing job with design, educational approach and execution of books for children of various age.
