That's Not My Monster...(Usborne Touchy-Feely Books) Hardcover – December 30, 2004
'Touchy-feely books are a great way to encourage lots of interaction between parent and child, and this range from Usborne Publishing does it best' - The Sun; 'Helps very young children develop language and sensory skills' - Sheffield City Council; 'If you don't want the babies and toddlers to miss out on the monstrous fun, we recommend Fiona Watt's delightful "That's not my monster..." Little ones will delight in stroking a fluffy monster ear or touching some bumpy paws. Bright, bold and suitably robust (after all, it's not just the monsters who have teeth...)' - Little Parachutes Magazine; 'A valuable and enjoyable learning tool' - Junior Parenting Magazine; 'The brilliantly simple concept is a winner with very young children, trusted by parents and still one of the best baby series on the market' - The Bookseller --This text refers to an alternate Hardcover edition.

The monsters in this book are:
- eyebrows that are too hairy
- spikes that are too fuzzy
- paws that are too bumpy (my personal favorite)
- horns that are too rough
- ears that are fluffy
The touchy-feely material is a pretty good sized and where there are smaller sections of touch material, those pages do contain multiple little panels of the same material to touch on the monster, such as on the 'rough horns' monster--it has four little panels instead of two large panels of touch material. Overall I am generally pleased with this book. The illustrations are cute and very colorful, and while the story isn't very long, it's a nice addition to my son's growing library.

We own several of this set, but there are better choices than this one. Many of the textures are uninteresting or too similar. One is too tiny. Read morePublished 6 months ago by Guli
