New clock lacks quality of the original--very disappointed
on September 24, 2012
I received the 2000 millennium version at Christmas 1999. I loved it, but after about eight years it stopped. The manufacturer offered me 50% off on a new one if I returned the original. Reluctantly, I returned the clock, and received a new one. The new Zen clock does not have a progressive chime and the clock is made with much cheaper material than the original---which was made in the U.S. The newer version is made in China. When I called to complain about the quality and the fact that it was made in China, I was told that the newer version was better and I lacked global consciousness by being concerned about buying products made in the U.S. What a bunch of bunk! It's clear to me that the owner was taking advantage of cheaper labor and materials by having them made in Beijing. I still have the clock but am very disappointed with my purchase.
