For the next U2 Best Of ..album. I can only come up with eleven songs with two other possibles. Are there live or alternate versions of earlier songs that might be included? Or a soundtrack I do not know about?

1. Elevation 3.48
2. Walk On 4.55
3. Grace 5.31
4. Vertigo 3.13
5. Sometimes you can't make it on your own 5.05
6. City of blinding lights 5.46
7. All because of you 3.34
8. Window to the sky 4.01
9. Get on your boots 3.24
10. Magnificent 5.22
11. I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight 4.10
12. Stand up comedy 3.47 (?)
13. Moment of surrender 7.24 (?)

WelL I can suggest 7 more songs

14. Yaweh
15. New York
16. No line on the horizon
17. The saints are coming
18. Miracle drug
19. The ground beneath her feet
20. Fast cars

"The ground beneath her feet" and "Fast cars" are bonus tracks included on import versions of ATYCLB & HTDAAB. Funny that the line about dismantling an atomic bomb is from Fast cars but the US version did not have that song and many people wondered where the title came from...

I wondered that too about the title of ...ATOMIC BOMB. I have not heard those songs. Are they worth checking out? I would disagree with you about YAHWEH and a lot of fans seem to dislike NEW YORK. I would also consider A MAN AND A WOMAN

You all realize that it really should be greatest hits 2001-2010, and not 2000-2010. Year 2000 was already included in the last compilation. ATYCLB was already used in that compilation, but I guess some of the singles were released in 2001 and hence can used on the new collection. But, since they only released two albums since the last compilation, my vote is that a new compilation is unnecessary. The ONLY thing I would be interested in is a collection of bsides. I do NOT need ANOTHER release with Elevation, Vertigo, etc. Please...enough is enough.

I'm only interested in the b-sides (and not remixes again like 1990-2000, please), even though I may already have a good number of them. There isn't much from the period that stands out, except for "Big Girls Are Best". There are some covers, like "Don't Take Your Guns to Town" and a song featuring Leonard Cohen, the name of it escapes me though.

As for "disc one", I'd say NLotH in its entirety plus "a Man and a Woman".

What do you suppose would be on the front cover? What image is iconic of this period?

Bound to get 2 or 3 new tracks to fill it up. The Saint's Are Coming would be a definite. Would they be able to include any off the re release of Joshua Tree maybe ? Then they will probably do a Dylan and release another career spanning 2 or 3 disc greatest hits.

I would include the song Grace if I could on a compilation. Some say its a boring tune, but I find the lyrics to that song to be very uplifting. What I would really like, however, is for Edge to listen to the lyrics and perhaps apply them in his dealings with his Malibu neighbors. Sounds to me like he is acting like a spoiled rotten jerk.

Seeing as how they've now fulfilled their contractual obligations for best ofs, I don't think we'll see another one anytime soon. But if we did, this would be my list.

The Ground Beneath Her Feet
Beautiful Day
Stuck In a Moment...
Walk On
Miracle drug
Sometimes You Can't...
City Of Blinding Lights
Original Of The Species
Window In The Skies
No Line On The Horizon
Unknown Caller

I don't know if all of those would be able to fit on a single disc but if they couldn't, I'd then ax Elevation and/or Window In The Skies.

@Da BrandoChipper. 2000 is included to keep the system correct, 80-90 got overlapped by 90-00 so it makes sense the 3rd should be 00-10.

AS for the contractual agreement being for filled.. I'd be really surprised if 00-10 wasn't released because it's part of a set which will guarantee sales. I'd buy it because I'd like to have a 3rd in a set.. And I haven't bought the last 2 albums due to not being that impressed with the albums.. but the singles were ok, I'd like them in my iTunes but I can't stomach the idea of buying loss-y? encoding and having to back them up. Plus, I just like the physicality of CD's.. but that's not why were here...

The 3rd will come out one way or another because there's a market for it, and if they like it or not U2 have to make money for there label.

"Xanax and Wine" should be on there, along with "Never Let Me Go" and "When I Look At The World" :)

I think a compilation of the the Best of 2000 - 2010 makes sense for the band either this fall or next year.
The past two albums had 16-17 tracks. This is my version.

1. Ground Beneath Her Feet
2. Elevation
3. Walk On
4. Kite
5. Vertigo
6. City of Blinding Lights
7. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own.
8. Origin of the Species
9. Window in the Skies
10. Get on Your Boots
11. Magnificent
12. I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight
13. Moment of Surrender
14. Winter (Brothers Movie Version)
15. North Star ( from Transformers 3) Could be a single?
16. Mercy (I prefer the original studio version, but the "Wide Awake" version would be ok too).
17. Boy Falls From the Sky (from Spiderman since U2 is credited for that song)?

Or they could fill the 17th slot with another new song: Every Breaking Wave?, Soon?, or something new. Or something from the other albums: Grace, In A Little While, Wild Honey, Yahweh, Unknown Caller, Breathe?

The band seems to not know which direction it wants to go in for the next record so this album could help them clean their palate and release the few songs they have been playing on the 360 tour and the last decades of hits. The next u2 album probably will not surface until 2012-2013.

The Saints are Coming, Stateless, alternate versions of songs (Winter, Mercy, etc) and remixes would be on the b-sides.

Truth is they should've called the last one 1990-2001 since they included songs from 2000 and not just up to it. I twas technically an 11 year compilation instead of a ten year as it claims. But they left out Walk On and Elevation probably because they were planning on saving them for the 2000-2010 compilation. They screwed it up even firther by adding 2 new songs from 2002! The fact of the matter is 10 years is not a long enough time frame for a u2 hits compilation any more because they don't release albums as often and therefore won't have as many true hits as the 80-90 set which was drawn from 6 albums.

@Sean. First of all, The Best of collections are the Singles, not the albums. Most of the singles are released to retail and radio after the album has been out. If you look at the singles that hit the store after the album of All That You Can't Leave Behind, you'll see they were released in 2001 meaning that's when they charted for the first time. So I would guess the track list (Should there be a 3rd Best of) will be made up of the singles that were released from 2001-2010. The name The Best of 2000-2010 would simply be a volume 3 to go with the Best of 1980-1990 and 1990-2000. So don't read into the title to much people, it's just a title. And new songs are just that, "new songs" they are there for the fans and to help sell the album.
