Purchase options and add-ons
Cars were one of Frank Lloyd Wright's great obsessions, along with Architecture and Japanese Prints. The last two have been well documented, but the Cars have not been covered at all ... until this book. This unique visual history of Wright's 85 cars and one motorcycle uses original magazine ads to describe the make and model of each vehicle. They are presented in the order in which they were purchased.

Frank Lloyd Wright was a most interesting and at times controversial person, An exceptionally skilled architect of a variety of buildings, one of the most famous being Fallingwater, the home designed for the Edgar Kaufmann family in early 1930's. I was looking forward to pictures of FLW's cars and insight into his love for them. Instead there are just a few pictures and a lot of reprints of old ads for the cars he had. The ads are somewhat interesting but I am very disappointed that the book does not fulfill the promise of the title. I should have read the 1 & 2 star reviews before wasting $15.

This is a book seemingly written specifically for me! I am a total gear-head, VERY into cars, VERY into Wright, and I own a Usonian home in Wisconsin that was designed by one of the earliest apprentices of FLLW. Having said that... this book deserves to be returned to Amazon. There is nothing new, nothing interesting, and nothing even noteworthy in this book. The forward/introduction is basic and includes no information that is not available elsewhere. There are only a few photographs in this book of actual FLLW cars, and they're almost all of the same single car (on the cover). The rest are reprinted advertisements for cars that Wright owned, most in black and white. There are no descriptors, and no meaningful discussion as to WHY FLLW would buy the cars he did. Why was this book even written? Shouldn't there have been an archive search for actual photos of the cars in use? FLLW posing in, next to, or even driving one of these cars? Just make my mistake a learning point for other FLLW and automobile enthusiasts... let this one collect dust on the shelves at Amazon.

This was a gift for my daughter, who is a Frank Lloyd Wright fan. I believe she was happy & surprised such a unique book existed.

Thoroughly researched, beautifully assembled! This work is a piece of art and history at the same time. Anyone who is interested in Frank Lloyd Wright will find this book interesting and intriguing.

Not much of substance here. The author's goal is to list all of Wright's cars and the total text (in large 18 point type) takes up 22 pages. The rest is copies of magazine ads for each of the cars Wright was purported to own. Good news is it's only $15.

No es un libro, aunque lo parezca. Solo unos recortes fotocopiados que no aportan nada sobre el concepto arquitectura o FLLW. Ni siquiera es un buen trabajo de documentación.

In the vast literature on FLW, the car had never been considered
This gap has now been filled. Very interesting the original ads.
