A very good book that every policy maker, journalist and educator should be required to read. That being said, it does have a few cons: a lot of repetition of facts; can be hard to understand if you are not knowledgeable of scientific research methods; and it is sometimes hard remember all the people that are referenced in the book. On the last point it may be helpful to have (or make your own) reference to all the individuals cited in the book. The pros: it is all fact based; it explains both the politics and faulty science behind global warming, or climate change or whatever buzzword they will come up with next; and it references everything so you can get more background information.

I recommend that when you buy this book read it with as little interruption as possible.

I do not think that I could sell this book to the average Guardian Reader. If a scientific case is so undeniably correct and irrefutable and the fanatics claim, then why is it necessary to lie and cheat about the evidence ? But that is exactly what the main academic institutions that seek to advance the cause of man made 'global warming', 'climate change' have done shamelessly.

And what is this drivel about 97% 'consensus'. Consensus is a political term and is utterly un-scientific. 'Oh, Mr Galileo, the Vatican and 100% of scientists - a universal consensus, agree that the sun circles the earth.....so you must be wrong.....' And excluded from the BBC !

This book is calm and reasoned. The accusations of cheating, falsification of evidence and all the tricks that the fanatics have used are revealed, and if the author is wrong, then he can be challenged in the courts.

HAS HE BEEN so challenged in the courts, of course not. Draw your own conclusions from that. As a layman, in scientific terms, I am grateful to the author for bringing clarity to so many issues.

If you are interested in the debate rather than revealed truth, then this book is an absolute must.

This book offers invaluable information on the political origins of climate a alarmism and it's true goal -- bring down advanced industrial societies. It's major drawbacks are poor proofreading and repetitiveness. I would guess that these chapters were originally free-standing pieces. Nonetheless, despite the sometimes tiring slog, it is well worth your time and attention.

The truth about AGW (really means human caused global warming) can be found in this wonderful book. I feel I owe it to Dr Ball to add a comment about his work in this book.

The idea that we humans have the power to alter the climate for the planet caused me to think we are all going mad. How on this earth could we do that? Volcanos, Tsunamis, Hurricanes even Earthquakes can't and these events can present the most powerful wide spread effects known to us in the 21st century.

Reality is this. Sure, if we cut down all the trees in a given area, the weather in that area will change "slightly", until the trees grow again. But - to suggest that humans are able to produce enough CO2, even though the amount in the atmosphere has been much higher in the past, it will cause a catastrophe which will lead to the end of life as we know it today, is not only ludicrous, it is a lie.

The truth is this. Humans will never have any effect on global climate but I can assure you of one thing. The sun will, as it has in the past and there is nothing we humans can do about that. The best thing we can do is be prepared, to adapt to changes in localised conditions. Don't build homes near creeks and rivers. Don't build too close to the coast. Don't allow big trees to grow near your home. Install flood mittergating devices - levy banks, deeper drains, dams etc., to protect communities. Comply fully with local building codes, make homes stronger where needed. In other words, use common sense. Be careful and you will be okay unless your luck runs out and no amount of preparation can protect you from bad luck.

This is an excellent book and I highly recommend it.

Establishment "science" is no longer about truthful facts, but about politics and profiteering. No one outlines that better than Dr. Tim Ball in this book. He extensively examines the leaked "climate-gate" e-mails, showing how the warming alarmists worked to fix the "science", in an attempt to "prove" that anthropogenic global warming is real. He names the names, and quotes their exact words from the e-mail messages that were hacked and made public from a still — as of yet — unknown hacker. This is a very well-written, timely, and important exposé of the compromised climatologists — from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, to the climate professors at the grant-funded universities. Their quest to twist "science" to fit their political purposes is laid bare by their actual words. This is a must read for every policymaker who might be considering a carbon tax, as well as any lay person who simply wants to know the truth. Dr. Ball lays out the truth in plain English for everyone to easily understand.

In some brutal plain speak, Tim Ball exposes the political machinations of climate scientists who are more concerned about protecting their turf and pushing their agenda than actually pursuing science. The extent of deception truly boggles the mind. From control of scientific journals to control of public discourse through hired PR agencies, to manipulation of Wikipedia and of course the infamous Climategate which was again covered up using PR agencies and sham investigations, the behaviour of these superstar climate scientists has been very dubious and quite unlike real scientists.
Tim Ball asks some very important questions: why do scientists need a PR agency to defend their science? Why do they need to crush all voices that try to disprove them, when the entire basis of progress in scientific research lies in disproving existing theories? To what extent will the world have to pay the cost of these false theories, and what is the cost we have already paid?

5.0 out of 5 stars Für alle die noch ganz fest an den "man-made" Klimawandel glauben
