A short read, but very informative in both her personality and her personal saga of this great and terrible event. I felt as if I had been there and witnessed it too. This lady's diary wasn't meant to be made public. It was meant for her family and future generations of her family.
Before my purchase, I didn't notice how few pages there are in this book - I guess I was expecting a 'rounded-out' diary with pictures, a description of her life before and after the battle - at least an identification of who she was, but it's just her diary with nothing added. This is great for someone doing research, but don't expect anything but her diary to arrive in the mail.
