Not only do you feel your brain cells stretch with reading this book, you actually come out of it feeling smarter. This is not something that can be said of most books! Watson does an amazing job of drawing seemingly unconnected threads together and showing us how they fit--from a marine operculum's relationship to an extinct species of Man on the Skeleton Coast, to the opening sentence of one of the most amazing and ultimately uplifting stories of cultural contact and population pressure: "Some of my best friends are cannibals." The book sits with you long after you've read it. Watson does amazing research and it shows.

Looking through the world with Lyall Watson's vision is bound to make you look at your world a little bit more differently, as well.
Another great legacy that Lyall has left to the living.
Subjects to entertain and make you think a little while reading.

Loved it! A small, quick read and well worth it. Mr. Watson brings myth and legend to life.
