I'm giving this cookbook 4 stars because it's missing one key section... dessert! Even one of their clients raves on the back cover about a peach cobbler or something like that... and there is no mention of desserts anywhere. Hmm, maybe that's because Jennifer Aniston doesn't eat them? :) I'm not looking for sugar laden syrupy sweets, but some ideas of what they'd normally cook for dessert would be great.
Overall a great cookbook, one of my new favorites!
In addition to delicious recipes, the beginning of the book is filled with helpful information for cooks who are just starting out, and those who would like to improve their skills. There is an entire section of dressings that are quick and transformative to almost any grouping of fresh veggies, so I rarely buy dressings premade anymore. Papa's chicken has become a favorite Sunday supper. And I rotate all the yummy salads throughout the week.
Because as I have read it...it has been by my bed stand for 2 nights now, that is what shines the clearest, the love these two have for each other, and the people around them, and how they, and we, can manifest that love through our cooking. Their diversity, fun stories, touching memories, and ethnic flair is a delicious read.
Ooooh I wish sisters like these, how happy I would be. But I guess this book is second best to that. Please excuse me now, I am finished with the book, and must run to the kitchen, to cook up some love.
