I am a school nurse and have a newly diagnosed diabetic child. This book is a great tool to the child and her family as well as to me. I have been able to assist her with topics that have changed over the years and I knew very little about. Thank you to Dr. Chase.

It is easy to read. It is easy to understand. All ages seem to be able to understand the basics of it--even for those early readers, they may not be able to read it, but when it is read to them, they seem to comprehend. Well written and gives parents the basics too so that they can talk with their children better about it. I would highly recommend it. I am a registered nurse and have given it to parents, my family, and young parents of newly diagnosed Type I Diabetics.

What a wonderful tool for helping both the non-medical individual but those in the medical field who haven't worked with diabetes in a while! So much has changed from even 10 years ago! I loved the simple drawings and ease of the book.

Much of my nursing career has been spent educating patients on their conditions and how they can manage them. This is a great place to start that process, for adults and children both. Written for parents, I would still suggest it for anyone with a new diabetes background or someone starting insulin.

As the grandparents of a 7 year old granddaughter recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, this book has been invaluable. Highly recommend for anyone new to this disease.
