Tuscan Sunday seaside reading
The best comprehensive coverage of British and World news which alongside the invaluable reviews of literature, film, theatre and all arts events makes the Guardian and Observer essential reading. I travel 30 kilometres to get my Saturday edition from a small seaside resort called Tonfanu, just south of Liguria. The volume of wonderful writing keeps me engrossed for the whole week.

I really like the European slant on the news. Some writers are both clever and informing. Politicians read with trepidation the columns of John Crace, now featuring Boris pifflepafflewifflewaffle to replace Theresa the Maybot. There is enough US news without being subjected to every little knee jerk and Trumpian tweet. Very good world coverage you rarely find in American newspapers. The Guardian is not a fan of right wing politics so people who love the Fox News silo should avoid it.

enjoyed having this but simply ran out of time to read it.

only negative I had about the publication was the format on the kindle. I was hoping for a easier interface i found it clunky but the content was superb.

will no doubt sign up again maybe once I have more time on my hands to read it.

I would like to see the Guardian Kindle published earlier, sometimes the news is rather old when you read the paper in the morning.
For the rest: the Guardian is my favourite newspaper, trustworthy and inspiring.

It could not open on Kindle and I did not get to read my newspaper (at all). I have never had this problem with any other newspaper. I will not purchase it again and suggest you proceed with caution. The actual newspaper (hard-copy) used to be an interesting read, it just does not work for me on Kindle and I have gone back to reading the Times, which works perfectly on Kindle.

It all goes back to wanting to know what is REALLY going on. I find this publication (I read the Sunday edition), an opportunity to know what is
going on in the UK and Europe through an English language newspaper that does not appear to be connected to U.S. newspapers. It is
very informative, and gives me an 'outsider's view' of what is going on, both at home and abroad.

The content is good, but in the last month some daily issues causes the kindle to freeze. I have to delete the issue, restart the kindle a couple of time. Some times it works, sometime I do not get to read the day's issue.

When in the UK I enjoy grabbing the weekend edition of the Guardian along at Tesco's. Back in the Netherlands it's hard to find a newsstand which supplies it and paying for it is a nasty suprise. The last copy I bought I saw the add about downloading it on Kindle. That is great! The only disadvantage is checking out which articles you want to read ( no overview by flipping quickly through the pages) but once you start reading you're just reading the one article and not getting your attention drawn away by some headline in the corner of your eye. More focus. And then I'm not even talking about how easy it is formatwise!

The Kindle version of the Guardian and Observer is a great resource. You can select the style and size of font to one that's easy to read. The non reflective and back lit screen make it easy to read under any lighting conditions, indoors and outside. The Kindle is also a great lightweight alternative to the printed version. I like the way that you can save articles. I also access the Guardian via my large screen smart phone and Samsung tablet.

I especially like the fact that it is just the news content of the publication. This makes it easy for me to navigate straight to the particular articles that I'm interested in. I like the Guardian because it reflects my political, social, economic and ecological values. It also has some great columnists.

As an expat subscriber to the Guardian Weekly (print edition) for 38 years, I was becoming increasingly frustrated with the German postal service’s late deliveries. This frustration was the main reason I bought my first Kindle five years ago. An added attraction: the subscription price for the daily version was lower than that for the weekly print edition. The device has paid for itself, and with the whispernet version I have had access all over Europe to my daily Guardian, even without WiFi access. I have only had one glitch in that time. The paper always arrives in the early hours with more up-to-date news than my local German (print) daily.
Certain things are missing (league tables, results etc and there are more pictures and colour if read on a PC or Android device) . but overall I am delighted with it. One small point the Kindle version can no longer (since March 2015) be downloaded onto the Kindle Fire.
