Received this as a Christmas gift and OH MY DARK LORD I'M HOOKED! After a trial & error period and a well-spoken Alohomora Spell (and handing it over to my 20yr old son), we figured out how to program the commands. Surprise! No one had Confunded us...it was a matter of reading ALL the directions vs". trying to "Ron Weasley" the situation with random whacking motions towards the TV. (Seriously...I heard Hermione's voice: "Stop! Stop! Stop! You're going to take someone's eye out! Besides, you're saying it wrong. It's LeviOsa, not LevioSA.")

Now, with a Flourish (and Blotts) that would make Ollivander proud.... Voilà! My TV comes on and with a Flitwick approved 'Swish & Flick' & I've changed the channel. But wait, that's not all...with the twist of the Obliviate spell ~ volume up or down.

Accio Happiness & Avada Kedavra old remote!

I'm so happy I could...I could...I could kiss Trevor!!! Well, a Chocolate Frog at least…

This is so cool. Like others, I had trouble programming it at first. The key is to pay attention to the number of blinks given after you do a motion. You may think you have done one motion but the wand may think another. You need to program the function for the command the wand thints you gave. Then, as you master the motions, they will do what you anticipate.

Since it can work more than one device, it really seems like magic. Those who don't know how to work it can get results but not what they expect. You know what they say...you just don't get results as good when it's not your own wand!

Difficult to program, but once you do it is great! The detailed instructions are under a flap attached to the inside top of the wand box. At first, I only saw the tiny instructions.

I made him set it up so it was easy for me and he didn't seem to have an of those muggle issues others are having. Now to find a wizarding cape for his birthday....

I love this wand. As a true Harry Potter nerd who regularly goes to the Universal park, I was nervous that this wand would not compare to the one I purchased in Harry Potter World. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was of equal caliber and much more affordable than the products sold within Universal. No one can tell the difference between this and my other wand and I would definitely purchase this one again.

Seeing it on Big Bang theory, we had high hopes. I am a techie person and love cool gadgets but compelled to warn you to avoid the spells this puts out or rather fails to conjure up when you need it

The wand is extremely painful to program first of all. For the price tag they should have included someone to come program for you

It really needs an app or additional buttons to program. Remembering the number of vibrations for a given gesture is PAINFUL

Secondly it does not work with all infra red devices. I couldn't get a common Sony tv for example to work and only thing they worked was a leutron light remote. It does not work with all infrared devices !

Third- the program button is in a very bad spot where you can easily hit it when you don't want to

Sadly I had to return it
Great idea but needs a LOT more work

I love gadgets but this is one of the few that had to go back. $49 is over priced for what this does save your money

The reviews on this are spot on. The programming is a bit frustrating. Be patient, take your take, walk away and come back if you need to. BUT once it's programmed it's AWESOME! So little are the days I sit in bed and use the remote like a common muggle. This is so neat! This uses the remote signal to program so you can program whatever remote command you want and it's really easy (after you've mastered the programming feature lol) and you can change it as often and as much as you want. I would (and have ) definitely recommend this to all my fellow wizards and witches.

I saw this wand on an episode of The Big Bang Theory and just had to have it! I read multiple reviews on it, and they all said that it was hard to program, but once you got past that it was a lot of fun. I decided to purchase it anyway. When I received the wand I was super excited. I couldn't wait to control my tv with "magic"! My fiance and I spent about half an hour to 45 minutes practicing the gestures. Then we decided what gestures we wanted to have do what before programming. The programming took about 10 minutes. It was not hard at all for us to program it. We were super excited. We have since changed what the gestures do a few times because we realized what we programmed we don't use as often as something else. We are VERY PLEASED with our purchase! I haven't used the actual remote to the tv since, except to turn the volume up and down because we did not program that function. I would highly recommend this wand to anyone who is a fan of Harry Potter.
