5.0 out of 5 starsIt works!
Reviewed in the United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ on May 22, 2013
This book was recommended to me and my husband by a friend. We purchased it as a Kindle book. It is well designed, formatted and edited in that edition.

It has been known for many decades now in both mainstream and alternative medicine that stress is a major contributor--and sometimes a cause--of essentially every known disease. The stress response is also known as the fight-or-flight response, anxiety, adrenaline, or just plain, old fear.

In my experience using the healing code (HC), it works fantastically for shutting off a fight-or-flight switch that is stuck in the "on" position. In my own case, I had been experiencing intense situational stress and anxiety from almost two years of caretaking of my husband. He received a hip injury in a car accident over 11 years ago and has been in unremitting pain ever since that surgery, physical therapy, and countless other healing interventions have not helped. And his situation seriously worsened for no discernible reason two years ago, causing him great despondency since no health-care provider mainstream or alternative could help him.

Within the first 24 hours of my using the HC as taught in this book, my fight-or-flight stress switch was turned "off," and my mind was at peace. It was like a magic wand for me personally. As if I'd received a constant dose of some kind of natural tranquilizer that has zero side effects because my own body manufactures it.

Over the years I have done many things for stress, for example, meditation, yoga, deep breathing, soothing music, laughter therapy, aerobic exercise, excellent diet and nutraceuticals--you name it. Nothing, and I mean *nothing*, has ever worked as deeply and as quickly as the HC to remove deep-seated stress and anxiety. In addition to making me more mentally and emotionally flexible in daily life, using the HC has completely eliminated my occasional bouts of stress/anxiety-induced insomnia.

As for my husband, he also has experienced noticeable improvement in the stress and anxiety produced by his constant pain. Though he states that the pain itself has not yet decreased noticeably, it is a well known fact in the field of pain management (and in the field of natural childbirth) that one's attitude toward pain strongly affects one's ability to tolerate it. In addition, when anxiety levels rise, the stress chemicals themselves can physically increase pain by tightening muscles in every part of the body.

Sometimes it is hard to see everything a healing technique does for ourselves and it helps to have an outside observer. As for me, my husband says that the lessening of my anxiety is obvious, and it makes him feel less anxious. It also has made our relationship much more natural and relaxed and not constantly focused on almost nothing but his pain. My adult children have also commented on how much calmer I am now.

Here is what I have noticed viewing my husband on the outside: In spite of him saying his pain is still there, his whole demeanor has drastically changed. His expression is calm and peaceful. His posture, instead of being hunched over, is straight and firm. His general health is excellent, and even on nights when he doesn't sleep well because of the pain, he can still work out at the pool at our gym for an hour to an hour and a half. He cannot sit because of his hip injury and can only lie on his right side, which in itself causes pressure pain. To relieve the pressure pain during his waking hours, about 50% of the time he has to stand or walk around. That type of frequent motion requires excellent stamina, which has improved for him since using the HC. Best of all, he has regained hope rather than living in quiet despair--and hope is everything when one suffers from a chronic pain condition.

My husband wanted further coaching on the HC besides what is contained in this book, so he visited the author's website and located a trained HC coach. He paid $200 to receive four 30-minute sessions conducted by phone (it is possible to pay for more or less sessions than that). Doing this has not been necessary for me, because I continue to get terrific results faithfully practicing the HC from this book as prescribed, for six minutes three times per day. It is totally up to the individual discretion of each person using the HC if they want to do solely what is in this book or seek more training. So far my husband has had one session in which he received individually tailored, "advanced" HC geared to his own specific issues. He is using that version of the HC rather than the one in the book. He consistently does it as instructed on a daily basis. Both of us plan to keep doing HC indefinitely. It makes no sense to us to stop when the constant stress bombarding us in our personal lives as well as coming from the frantic world we all live in isn't going to go away in the foreseeable future.

3.0 out of 5 starsWhere do the healing codes really come from?
Reviewed in the United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ on July 30, 2013
In 2001 Alex Loyd "discovered" the healing codes when "God downloaded into my mind and heart what we now call the Healing Codes". And there you have it, from the very beginning you have to take some things on this book on faith alone for I'm not aware of any scientific way and beyond any doubt to prove that the Healing Codes were downloaded into Alex's mind and heart by God himself. Now after reading the book and many of Alex's comments here in Amazon I've got the feeling he may truly believe this. Maybe will never know for sure. One of the problems I have with the book is when the author states that this is an "absolutely new discovery" and that it is "completely different". If it is energy healing to star with then it is not an absolutely new discovery at all. How can the author say that, it is infuriating. Short of stating that there are four healing centers which the codes activate there is no real explanation behind them. The effects may be quantifiable, and there may be results, but a comprehensive explanation of how it works is sorely lacking. He says is not about energy meridians or chakras but those are just words. Many people believe the chakras actually refer endocrine glands in the body so it's not far fetched to replace Alex's choice of words (i.e. healing centers for the words energy centers or chakras or whatever). His system is completely different yet people again and again bring up EFT. Why? Because they strike them as SIMILAR. Therefore this is not completely different. I know many users of EFT have said that the methods are not the same, and they are right they are NOT IDENTICAL, but you can not say that the Healing Codes are COMPLETELY different. They're both classified as energy systems, in both you use your hands and even place them in some cases in the same general area (near the temples or between the eyebrows). So please don't use the words "absolutely" and "completely" so liberally. Now Alex says that they are different because EFT takes care of emotional issues and the Healing Codes of spiritual issues (by the way whenever I paraphrase Alex or quote him is from his book or his comments here on Amazon, you can corroborate it all by yourself). But what are spiritual issues? In an Amazon comment Alex states "what I call spiritual issues - unforgiveness, self-worth, rejection, fear, anger, etc.". Aren't those emotions? So as far as the Healing Codes being COMPLETELY they're not.
And it bears repeating I'm not saying they're IDENTICAL either, in many regards they take a different focus. But if two persons learned to play the piano using two different methodologies, they still learned how to read music, they still play using the hands, and using the same instrument and accomplished the same goal. This is what I feel the Healing Codes are, Alex's version of energy healing.
If you read Gary Craig's EFT manual he acknowledges the pioneers of energy healing from thousands of years ago and his contemporary influences too. I think Alex should've done the same, but he just states that the healing codes "was given to me as a gift of God in 2001". Now it should be interesting to the readers to know that Alex and Ben were involved in energy healing methodologies BEFORE the healing codes and hopefully you will not be blind to the the fact that the healing codes and those other methodologies have a LOT of COMMON ground (same ingredients different recipe). That fact is even acknowledged by the authors themselves; Ben even states in the book that he was trained in Thought Field Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique or Quantum Technique to mention some. But they don't give any credit to that as a basis to the healing codes because the healing codes are an "ABSOLUTELY NEW DISCOVERY'' and a "gift of God".
Now Alex recommends himself these therapies like EFT when someone mentions them, but he repeats again and again that the healing codes are something different. He may even believe it (I wouldn't for one).
EFT is a healing energy technique by Gary Craig that is based on the work of Dr. Callahan and his energy tapping techniques, Craig states "My contribution, EFT, is an elegantly simple version of energy tapping procedures". I would've like Alex to state something similar much more than the story of being a God vessel to which God himself downloaded this COMPLETELY different tool for healing (and for all I know, I'll say it again, Alex may believe this himself). The reader should also be aware that Alex was a student of the Callahan methodology, TFT, in 1999. Alex even states in a comment here in Amazon that he was the cofounder of Quantum Techniques with Stephen Daniel who himself was a Callahan student in 1996 (you can check it out in the TFT website about Alex and Daniel receiving such training). For what I've read Quantum Techniques was founded in 1998 a project Alex abandoned after validating his own special brand called the healing codes.
So to sum it all up i think the authors of The Healing Codes are not giving credit where credit is due.
Now on to the possibility that Alex really believes the gift from God story. Could it be possible that after being absolutely focused on healing his wife during 12 years and studying many healing methodologies (Alex even tells about his wife having an impressive amount of books on healing and self help) all of this information somehow coalesced in Alex's subconscious into the form of The Healing Codes and was then interpreted as a downloaded gift from god. Lets not forget that Alex was ordained minister at a young age and was brought up in a strong Christian environment. What if he were brought up as a Buddhist instead, would he said Buddha delivered to him this healing gift?
Maybe you've read about some technological or scientific advancements arrived at at dreams, and I'm not implying anything magical or mystical this could be explained via the subconscious. Maybe you've read that the structure of benzene was arrived at through a reverie or day dream or the design of the sewing machine's needle in a similar way.
So I directly ask you Alex Loyd could you be wrong on the source of your healing codes? Could the subconscious coalescence of all the information you had produced the healing codes and not God?
I will try not to go much deeper into the book The Healing Codes having a lot of christian biases. If your interested in this read Hei Long's excellent two star review and the comments about this. He wrote very articulately his position and arguments to which, in my opinion, Alex really didn't respond. But yes, talking a lot about God and the bible is religious for me. And it made me uncomfortable. The main argument of Hei is that there was no indication on the cover or back of the book to warn the reader the book would delve into religion. I have the kindle edition and in all honesty I didn't expect the book to be religious at all myself from looking at the cover or Amazon's description. Many people say the book is not religious at all, and Alex himself says that his beliefs are in the book as an FYI because people like to know where an author is coming from. Well he should've stated that on the cover so we could know before buying the book. Hei also confronts Alex about hiding behind his academic credentials and not being upfront about being an ordained minister. Alex responds that he states his academic credentials because the subject at hand calls for them. But then again Alex states that ALL the healing codes do is heal SPIRITUAL issues, and then all the book is peppered with mentions of God and God being the true source of healing. He even encourages to visualize Jesus in one exercise so you can feel love or peace. I don't think that would be relaxing to a non christian. Doing a search on the kindle edition, the search engine yielded the word God 60 times, the word bible 16 and the word Jesus (as in the Christ) 12 times. So Alex, don't say that you put information on the book about your beliefs for "our information only". The search engine yields 0 results for Buddha or Allah or other sacred texts for that matter. What bothers me the most is when Alex says that he believes the bible is a non-negotiable truth. If the healing codes are not about beliefs and work regardless, why make such statements then? On the comments to Hei Long's review someone questions Alex about the contradictions in the bible and if he ignores parts of the Old Testament or what. That person is homosexual and talks about all the damaged he's received from his family through religion and the bible. And he asks because Alex says that he loves him and doesn't judge him for his sexuality and that he doesn't believe anyone will go to hell for their sins. To which the commenter is puzzled because some of Alex's statements seem counter to the bible. And Alex doesn't really answer if he cherry picks from the bible or how he manages to accommodate all the contradictions. And in spite of all this we get the bible is a non-negotiable truth in The Healing Codes book. Can there be more than one truth? If I believe in another sacred text which doesn't agree with the bible does that imply Alex believes I'm wrong? Alex has mentioned he had some issues growing up in a repressive interpretation of christianity. He says he doesn't call himself a christian (but how is people to call you when you believe in Jesus and the bible) that he is spiritual and not religious and that it took him a long time to get over all of this. I think he never got over it, just reinterpreted his dogma to feel psychological relief to his convenience like many of us do. He states that what is really important is to be loving at all times, and I'm all in for that, but I could never myself reconcile that with the bible and christianity without being to liberal about my interpretation of the text or ignoring some elements of it. Alex says he is no theologian so I wonder how he manages the contradictions in his personal beliefs and the non-negotiable truth which according to him the bible is. Through prayer, really? All of this ultimate truth postures only cause division. And it did bother me. I must admit, to be fair, that my experience of the bible and christianity (being born in a christian family) always meant zealotry, imposition, division, judgement and a dogma based on fear hence my personal take on the issue.. Alex also states that the bible is a love letter but that creates cognitive dissonance in me. For what I've read God punishes and kills time and time again when he is disobeyed, he hardens rulers hearts, floods the earth, asks for cruel displays of faith (sacrifice your son for me), etc. If you say that is not so then you haven't read the bible. And hey, every one has the right to believe in this or whatever they want, and to have their personal interpretation about it, but please don't tell me the bible is a love letter and a non-negotiable truth in a book I didn't buy for religious reasons. What is really important about this issue is that people may be put off and discard The Healing Codes book solely on religious grounds. And that's precisely the case as you can read from the 71 years old reviewer in the one star reviews. And as I said in a comment there, if the codes work that's a shame.
Now onto the healing code itself. I don't have any illnesses so I can not comment in there. I've used the codes for some days and do feel more relaxed. I think the book itself is good for self awareness and dealing with emotional or stressing issues that may be detrimental to your health. I really feel wee need a shift in our current medical paradigm and energy healing may be a step in the correct direction. For what I've seen the testimonials seem to be genuine and results are promising across different modalities of energy healing, but still more scientific validation is still to come and we may still be a long way from fully understanding the mechanisms behind healing.
All the criticism and points I make in this review are my honest opinion and are intended to be constructive, but for all I know I may be wrong. Still I don't think The Healing Codes were downloaded from god and that credit should be given where credit is due. I really feel all the god explanations and bible mentioning are totally unnecessary and detrimental, for readers may feel alienated by this as I do. For these two reasons, that I feel the author is not giving credit where he should, and the inclusion of religion in the book as was my perception I give the book three stars.
The Healing Codes may work, and thus encourage potential readers to investigate on their own, but in my opinion this is built upon other systems and not a revelation from god to Alex, and all the dogma behind it should be done with. I guess the christian flavored energy healing niche had to be filled up. If this Alex version of energy healing is giving results and helping many people and more so than other modalities as some say, then regardless where the author says he got the healing codes from, I must say to everyone that contributed to this directly or indirectly and to Alex himself, thank you!! Hopefully the so needed shift in our current healing paradigm in closer at hand, and the required science research to back it up too.

After reading lots of books on spiritual healing I found this one the worst. If you really want to get some benefit try to read some books of Eric Butterworth and Dr. Lipton. Their explanations are scientific and logical and you can really feel better just after reading the books and you can litterally change your life if you follow their advice. There are no technics or weird things to do even if its only 6 minutes its still your time you might be doing something else. I am very disappointed I purchased it. There are tons of repetitions in the book, if you take them out you will have maybe one chapter of very primitive and confusing information. Dont waste your time and money. The results people getting is the same placebo effect of belief. Its truly all in your mind but there are many great books to help you to understand the power you have and things you can change. This books are really exiting to read you just cant put them down and this one is plain boring and a lot of times incorrect stuff. Just to take the statement about cell memory. Dr Lipton has a great book on the life of the cells and through his long years of cell research he states that cells only react to the enviroment and act accordingly. There is no memories in the cells, there are certain genes that we get from our ancestors but they can be only activated under certain conditions. Read some good books and you will see the difference for yourself.

First I read the book and was so elated to finally find "The Fountain of All Healing". I thought after suffering from chronic pain for five years I'm finally on the road to a bonified God Given Gift to heal the world from the money grubbing medical and pharmacutical monster companies, and that all people would have an even playing field to heal equally.

Once done reading, I filed my registration to get my God Given Info ...........I became very ill to my stomach to find out that Mr. Alexander Loyd MD and his partner in crime Mr. Ben Johnson MD had succomed to the ranks of the big medical and pharmicutical companies and were asking for astronomical amounts of money to buy their codes to heal by.

If you could only know my great dissapointment and depression .......not to be able to afford their elitist group of patients and enjoy the benefits of health again as only the wealthy can afford.

If something was God Given you would think it would be for all to have no matter what creed of person,.........just as the Bible was printed for all and was inspired from the WORDS OF GOD.

I'm thourougly disgusted with this money grubbing institution and recomend not buying the book.........as it would only be a tease. (please forgive me for any misspelled words as I'm to ill to look them all up).

1.0 out of 5 stars Been doing the healing codes for 2 weeks now

I have been doing the healing codes for two weeks now for post cholestectomy syndrome, and I have not gotten any relief. I will continue to do them for the full 30 days, but I was expecting at least some change.

I was annoyed with 90% of the book for not really saying anything new. Every form of energy healing seems to want to bring in quantum physics (although there is nothing to suggest quantum physics has anything whatsoever to do with the kind of "energy" the codes are attempting to manipulate - its a little embarrassing, really, to even attempt to equate the electromagnetic spectrum and hard science with energy healing stuff). Some things just don't mix; they don't belong in the same category, and they just make the authors look remarkably foolish. And then there is invoking Einstein's name, which everyone in this energy healing field seems to like to do. With no credible reason whatsoever, if you've studied anything by Einstein (and I'm not talking about watching "What the Bleep...").

I do think there is a lot of validity to energy healing, but the way this book is written didn't add to the field of knowledge about that validity and in fact it merely detracted from it.

But it isn't looking to my body like there's anything special about these healing "codes." I'd love to come back at the end of these 30 days and eat my words, though.

I purchased this book without reading the negative reviews because it was recommended to me by someone that I trust as a method to reduce stress and anxiety. It didn't take long before I was regretting that decision. The book makes wild claims of healing any disease (some with no known cure) and not just reducing stress or anxiety. The evidence presented does not stand up to scrutiny; it is all anecdotal and in some cases completely fabricated. In chapter two, unsubstantiated claims are made to the "Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen" which supposedly involved individuals in a faraday cage that were affecting one another at great distances. Another one supposedly by the Department of Defense in 1998 where mouth cells in a test tube were excited by stimulating a person 50 miles away. If this is true, where is the citation? It should be easy to provide. If these experiments didn't happen, as is claimed, then as far as I'm concerned, the entire book is rubbish. I wish that I could receive a refund for this book, as I will not finish it, but sadly I waited too long and now I have only contributed more money to this charlatan's coffers.

1.0 out of 5 stars No Healing Codes Included - Waste your money then be inundated by emails trying to get deeper into your pockets

I believe the author(s) of this book are taking advantage of people who truly desire healing. 3/4 of the book is hard sell. There is one "instructional" sentence in the book stating you need to repeat a mantra. They have specific "codes" they eagerly SELL you on their web site. NONE ARE INCLUDED IN THE BOOK. After you sign up, you will be inundated with emails like this one I just received today:
"THE MOST POWERFUL HEALING CODE PROCESS EVER
CUSTOM GUIDED COACHING WITH DR. ALEX - LIVE!!
Cost - $50 Per Session
Date and Time: March 1st - ($50 for the session) - 7:00 P.M. Central Time. If you live outside the USA or can't make the live event, each session will be recorded and available for replay. Each Custom Guided Code is unique never to be repeated and the replay will be available for one week only.
Why do they charge for the book if there is no healing code included???? BUYER BEWARE!! Fool me once - shame on you!!! Glad I only wasted $10 and bought the Kindle version of the the sales pitch.

I've had this book for many months, have the manual and have twice paid for tuesday night codes with Alex...all to no noticeable positive results--and yes I religiously do the codes everyday. Now today I'm getting emails from Alex (author) saying *now* he has the answers to health challenges and is releasing audio/video over the next couple weeks explaining this new and improved healing modality. *sigh*

Why does this always seem to happen? He has my/our money but has now discovered this new, great secret. I cant wait to see how much this will cost. Hopefully there will be an explanation as to why the codes aren't the answer like he promoted them as but his new discovery is.

I guess I should have been more skeptical when I routinely started listening to the QandA sessions every week and it seemed like very few people were calling in that actually had positive major health or mental results, in fact the moderators have been doing codes for relatives who seem to have been ill for quite awhile. Even on this Amazon site is appears most of the positive reviews are not because of conquered health challenges but more that they liked what the book was saying.

I am revising my review to honor the author's response. I acknowledge there are positive reviews from other readers, so please make your own determination. I felt hopeful and positive myself until I got to the end and still didn't know what to do. Whether I missed something, I do not know, all I can do is tell you it was my experience that although I read the book, and the healing codes were described it was not fully explained how to do it and the code, as I understood, though described, was not provided and had to be retrieved by accessing a page online that I had difficulty accessing. The author indicates my assessment is not correct and had enough integrity to politely reply to my more scathing original post and was gracious at that, so I am allowing room for my error. I'm confused to say the least, but I don't want to steer anyone wrong. Perhaps it is best to make your own judgment. Perhaps in reading the book for yourself you will understand more than I did and see something I did not.

While the author states a lot of evidence for the success of his program, I find the format used is simply too much like at TV infomercial and it is completely unbelievable to me. When you look at their website, it presents exactly like those that are trying to get you to buy their product for which there is absolutely no valid scientific evidence of success (such as "miracle" diet cures). It completely invalidates the whole thing for me.

If they are truly Christian and if this is truly such a major breakthrough, why isn't it free? Or even just reasonably priced? $200 for the digital downloadable versions of their program (after you've bought the book) is a bit rich! What if it were $.99 like an iPhone app or song? They would still make a heap of money but it would be accessible to everyone in the world! The price tag completely invalidates it as a valid technique, calls into question all "evidence" he has presented, and smacks of a quick grab for wealth.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's Christian prayer.

This book is Christian based prayer disguised as a new age approach to health. There are 214 pages of build up with constant references to God. There are references to Jesus and sin. The actual healing code itself is only 6 pages long, and involves praying to God. Unless you are a firm believer in prayer or faith healing, I don't see how this book can possibly benefit you.
Not until the last 2 pages of the book do the authors finally admit the truth: "Simply put, we are followers of Jesus, his Holy Spirit whom lives in us, and His written word, the Bible." They should have been up front about this.
In addition to the religious hype, they also say some things that are downright false. They have a 10 second breathing exercise that they allege can make you feel as good as 30 to 60 minutes of vigorous exercise. I can see how this would be appealing to people who don't like to exercise, but it's not true. There is no substitute for real exercise.

BUYER BE WARE: This book is a promotional for all the other things you are asked to do in order to get the full scope of its suggestions. If you want to read 95 percent of lots about what we already know about health, and 5 percent on what the healing code is, then buy this book! - I was very disappointed that I would have to go on-line and put my information for them to examine, and thereby to get the full reports or whatever would help me make use of the healing code. To get more I would have to register my purchase on-line! There are only two small chapters that finally get to what the healing code actually is. If you've done or studied color puncture, you just do the same, point your fingers at a specified chakra and expect the energy to get through. Oh Boy was I ever taken in by the write up of the author. I plan on trying to return mine, as its definitely not worth the money.
