Editorial Reviews
KARATE KID (1984): There is more to karate than fighting. This is the lesson that Daniel (Macchio), a San Fernando Valley teenager, is about to learn from a most unexpected teacher: Mr. Miyagi (Morita), an elderly handyman who also happens to be a master of martial arts. So when he rescues Daniel from the Cobra Kai, a vicious gang of karate school bullies, Miyagi instills in his young friend the importance of honor and confidence as well as skills in self-defense, vital lessons that will be called into play when a hopelessly outclassed Daniel faces Johnny, the sadistic leader of the Cobra Kai, in a no-holds-barred karate tournament for the championship of the Valley. KARATE KID (2010): When Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) and his mother (Taraji P. Henson) move from Detroit to China, Dre feels lost in a world very different from what he knows. Bullied and beaten up by some fellow students in his school, Dre is rescued by his apartment building’s handyman, Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), a man who is m.

Disc #2 is falsely labelled as CC (Closed Captions available for the deaf and hearing impaired). I'm a huge fan of the movies since the 80's and wanted to show them to my deaf son. Got through the first film with subtitles on no problem and he loved it so much he immediately requested we watch the sequels... so I put in disc#2 and found subtitles do not work on Karate Kid II or Karate Kid III. Extremely disappointing since he has to view the rest of the movies without sound and guess at what is happening in the plot, or I have to now track down another more expensive version of these films so he can actually enjoy them. I tried a replacement and that didn't work either, plus I read other reviews on here experiencing the same problem so it is obviously across the board.
They stack three dvds on top of each other. Not the most convenient case.
If you don't need captions, then I'm sure you'll love it. I haven't checked out the fourth disc yet.

My 11 year old is a complete 80's movie fanatic. We had already owned a copy of the Karate Kid but as with most DVDs that reside in this house it had gotten scratched up and was "skippy" as my younger kids like to put it. He had added the collection to his Amazon wish list a while ago and was going through it and noticed the price drop. My husband figured at roughly about a buck a movie how could we loose. I was however sad because I have been slowly trying to convert all of our DVDs to digital copy to avoid the scratched DVD issue we have in our house. So I can say I was so pleasantly surprised to here my kids shouting with glee that there was indeed a digital copy code in the case with the movies! Daniel LaRusso can now go with us everywhere. No longer will long waits at the doctor's office be filled with sighs and cries of "how much longer", but will instead be filled with crane kicks and amazingly bad and at the same time inspiring songs sung by Joe Esposito. Now that my friends is worth the four bucks!
Boom!

Schade. Meine Söhne sind sehr enttäuscht!
Très déçu
