The Lending Club Story: How the world's largest peer to peer lender is transforming finance and how you can benefit Edición Kindle
With over $1 billion in loans issued Lending Club is quickly moving towards the mainstream of consumer finance. Peer to peer lending can no longer be ignored as a passing fad, it is clearly here to stay.
The Lending Club Story is the first book ever published about Lending Club, the world’s largest p2p lender. It is part storytelling, part investment guide and part reference book.
In this book Peter Renton, the publisher of the most widely read blog on peer to peer lending, will explain:
•What is peer to peer lending and why it is becoming so popular
•How Lending Club went from just an idea to $1 billion in loans in less than six years
•How a little startup called Lending Club thrived during and after the financial crisis while some of the largest companies on Wall Street were collapsing
•How investors are benefiting from this new kind of investment
•How the borrowing process works at Lending Club
•What the future holds for this fast growing company
Many intelligent investors from successful hedge funds as well as small mom and pop investors are moving money away from the stock and bond markets and into peer to peer lending with Lending Club. After you have read this book you will understand why.

If you do live in the US, however, and are looking for another form of income in a form that might just get someone the business or personal funding they need, this book is a great place to look. It is easy and pleasurable to read and gives great insight into where the world's financial market may head if the banks don't lift their game.
While Peter's book is not a "hear's how to make money" tutorial, if you want to be successful in the P2P arena you need to "know the ins and outs", "the devil's in the details", "throw in your own cliche here". Follow his work and you will know more about P2P lending, period. Peter is incredibly active in the community of P2P lending. He regularly reposts and/or responds to my own blog posts on ProsperToRetire.com, and even helped publicize one of my P2P lending tools BidCopy at NumberWhale.com.
It sounds like I'm just tossing around URL's, but it's to show that Peter is very active and heavily involved. He knows what's going on in the P2P market. When Prosper recently made a controversial blog post about changing the data they would make publicly available to researchers/developers (changing XML to CSV), he and I were immediately emailing each other and Prosper for answers. Albeit, Peter demands a response from Prosper better than I :)
Word has it he will be publishing a similar Prosper Story in 2013 which I look forward to reading as well. He writes in an easy-to-understand language which can be challenging for the writer when you're speaking of percentages, investments, returns, etc. Read his book, read his blog ...then read my blog :) ..., have fun investing, make money. 'Nuff Said
The pace of the book is what I would consider great, and it's easy to follow even if you have limited investing experience. Although I am not on the borrower side, Peter makes a point include interviews with borrowers. It was rewarding to see how investors are making a positive impact on people's lives when banks are typically reluctant to do so.
From an investor perspective, Peter will take you though all the steps needed to start investing and much more. He also offers strategic advice on how to put together an investment strategy using several analytical website resources. He does not tell you how to invest exactly, but will recommend the tools to deploy capital in an intelligent way.
