The Meadow written by Mike O'Hare and Elfreda Pretorius is a magical journey that takes you in, through, and around the depths of heart and soul awakenings. I have never read a book quite like this one, and I consider it to be quite unique. The Meadow is filled with a brilliant cast of characters, adventure, scenarios of love and loss through the spiritual evolution of time. A guidebook of spiritual awakening is a good description. Suspenseful, purposeful, powerful and extraordinary. A MUST Read!
This an amazing story with so much wisdom woven through the words as a beautiful golden thread. Life has much more meaning that we can easily comprehend and it is all truly beautiful--the comedic and tragic moments alike. It just takes time and the proper perspective to truly understand. Throughout all time there are common threads between us and this work shows the importance of these threads. Consciousness lives on and love truly never dies.
Incredibly written story with an intriguing storyline. You will find it difficult to put this book down once you have started it. Although, a work of fiction the idea of two souls returning to find each other over centuries seems very much a real possibility to me. It truly is a love story that will stay with me for a long time.

Dear Mike and Elfreda, I loved The Meadow and I have no doubt in my mind that it will be a great success and all who read it will be forever changed. You may have found a way to "awaken the masses". You are not only a wonderful writer but a Master Teacher. You explained to me concepts that I have been struggling to fully comprehend. The lessons you incorporated in the story will not affect those who are not ready for the awakening, they will just enjoy the story, but the thousands and thousands who are almost there will not be able to read this story without being forever changed and at the very least gain a thirst to know more. I am truly inspired to be more, more than I was in each of my past lives. To embrace my lessons and become more than I was. The Meadow Truly is a wonderful touching novel. From an entertainment standpoint it has all the romance and excitement, adventure and intrigue anyone could want in an entertaining story. It was my pleasure to read this book. I spent many hours traveling through time and visiting interesting lands with you as I read. It was at times hard to put down as I fell in love with the charters in the story I had a hard time leaving them to their next adventure. The story line grabs you from the first page and wraps you up in a intriguing web that is truly spellbinding. I have been enjoying books since I was 6 years old and learned to read. I can truthfully say I have never read a book that was written like The Meadow. You managed to put it together in a way I have never before encountered. The way you introduce the story and move on to all the different lives our heroes experience is wonderful. Then just when it is least expected the story burst out into the real adventure, It really took me by surprise, as if the first 83 pages we not exciting and compelling enough suddenly we are thrown into a adventure of epic importance! That was when it really got hard to put down. I must admit wholeheartedly the third surprise at the end was by far my favorite part of the whole book. And surprise is exactly what it was. As if I had not just finished a heart stopping adventure, I thought I was done with the story and sadly it was over... I turned the page completely expecting a authors note on the whole story... Wow! What a surprise I had. I would recommend this book for the last chapter if nothing else! You really did do a wonderful job in creating The Meadow. I am excitedly looking forward to the sequel...hint hint.... Thank you again for sharing this amazing story with me. Brenda Watts
What can I say? After a few late nights in bed and a few stolen hours through the day, I came to the very surprising end of this exciting novel. This has been almost a surprise at every turn of the page. This is a great story and a wonderful way to bring some great truths, even some controversy. I would rate this highly, certainly on the level of Dan Brown, for complexity and suspense, mystery, and better than Dan, there's love! The story spans centuries and just when you've thought it's over there's another surprise. I highly recommend The Meadow to novel enthusiasts and spiritual seekers alike. Read it and enjoy it, or enjoy it and learn something at the same time. My respect to Mike and Elfreda for a great work.
I am close to finishing reading The Meadow, by Mike O'Hare and Elfreda Pretorius. This novel is by far the most captivating book I have ever read. When you need to interrupt your reading with your life, you cannot wait to get back to The Meadow. It is a romance, moral story, a spiritual story which brings one to a higher level of consciousness, and it is packed with action. The Meadow takes you into beautiful and not so beautiful places. You "meet" nice people and those who are not-so-nice. The authors seem to have a full understanding of the underlying psychological factors causing some of the behavior of the characters, especially the shockingly-evil (outright delicious) antagonists. They have a strong grip on ancient Native American, Brittish, Israeli and other cultures as well. The imagery is unmatchable. The characters are so well-delevoped that you feel you know them all, and you have strong feelings about them and their cultures. It is exciting, intellectual, and has some very interesting ideas about higher consciousness and where souls go when the body dies. I would recommend this book very highly to anyone who looks for reading materials which bring you to a higher level of consciousness or somehow expand your mind and thoughts. I will say that while reading this wonderful novel, every time I see a feather on the ground, I want to reach down and pick it up because of the strong connection the authors have created in me with the feathers in the novel and what they represent. For the rest of my life, when I see a feather on the ground, I will remember and reconnect with The Meadow.
I absolutely love this novel, and anyone who likes to read something deeper than ordinary escapism should definitely read this one.
Thanks very much, Mike and Elfreda, for sharing this wonderful novel with the world.
