The Navajo People and Uranium Mining Paperback – July 1, 2007

Essential reading, coupled with Voyles "Wastelanding" and Pasternak works on racial-environmental injustice in Four Corners, primarily Navajo uranium country, now being revisited in drastic reductions by Trump to Bears Ears National Monument, under the dubious "leadership" of Mormon avarice and political dominance.

I was suprised to have met some of the people that were named in this book. The book was very thorough and eye opening. I had heard reports from some Navajo families as we did mission work on the Bennett Freeze area. I was not suprised of the way the Navajo were treated. Mr Peabody that took the coal out of the Appalacia Montains is at it again a century later. Same deals with Native Americans the governament has always performed. Mushroom policies, leave people in the dark and feed them horse....... you get the idea. Thank you for showing some light on the subject.

This book tells the story of the Navajo and other miners tragically affected by uranium mining and millling on theirs and adjacent lands. It contains the kind oral histories of those who suffered through it and were willing to share their experiences. It truly should be read by anyone who thinks nuclear power is "safe."

The book looked great when it came in. Looked brand new and I could not have asked for anything different
