Very well made, and really very realistic...it looks just like the one in the movie. It comes in a nice little box with a velvety sort of thing to hold it, and closes shut. It also has a little "key" to open the battery compartment. so there is no screw messing up the look of the wand at all. It discreetly unscrews at the base, and you can't even tell that it does until you turn the screw and see it starting to come out...I highly recommend for any little Harry Potter fans out there...they will "Wingardium Leviosa" all the day long, lol!
The elves brought these early to my kids, as we cannot take everything in the van to my parent's house, so some stuff arrived early this weekend for them...they've been playing constantly with these wands (and the associated costumes) for the last few days. Both children LOVE them, and are getting great play out of pretending to be Harry and Hermione. There is only one flaw with this, that I feel the company who makes them should address. There is no way to actually turn these off without unscrewing the base and taking the batteries out. This becomes a little frustrating when they are ready to put them away in the cases, as any slight bump or knock turns the light back on. If the company would come up with a way to have a very small switch/button to slide or press to turn the power off, then they would not have to be so careful about so gingerly placing the wand down. This doesn't detract from their play, but would be a nice feature as they would not have to worry about this particular issue. Other than that, we're really very happy with these, and I am having fun playing with them with the kids as well! We do love the sensitive action on these, because all you have to do is flick or wave it and the light reacts...it's fab!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDE FOR HP FANS!! (Of all ages!)
This is a fun and cute gift for someone who enjoys Harry Potter. My daughter and her fellow HP fanatic friends can play for hours with their wands, robes, and other HP gear. They all love that this wand lights up!
The only suggestion for improvement that I would have, is that I wish the wand itself was a little more like a wand in material versus the obviously plastic molding. But really - that's not a big deal as we are talking about a kids' toy after all.
It’s very well made. Not flimsy. It is plastic so it obviously doesn’t look “realistic” but it doesn’t exactly look cheesy either.
The tip of the wand has several glow settings that it passes through, from a light glow into a more intense one.
It’s also convenient (brilliant even) to have that little “button” there to dim/intensify the glow when wanted. We’ve had the same batteries in the wand for a couple of weeks now and it’s still going strong.
