The amazing Slush Mug turns nearly any beverage into a Slushee in just a few minutes. Because the Slush Mug doesn't use ice or a blender, it doesn't water down your Slushee like other products. The Slush Mug's secret to creating Slushees with the perfect consistency is its patent-pending Glaciercore. Simply freeze the Glaciercore and then add any naturally sweetened beverage to create a Slushee in minutes. Slush Mugs are made in the USA and feature a lifetime guarantee.

Whatever you add to it, make sure it is already cold, if you mix something in with or warm water, not only will it take longer, it will make whatever frozen liquid in the inside defrost, you are defeating the purpose.
Put whatever you made back in the freezer for a couple minutes, stir, back in the freezer.... If it is a hot day in a warm room, don't expect to make things quick, which is why I use the freezer to help it along.
The reason it slushes is from the sugar, if you want something to slush, add sugar, not the fake stuff.
Don't fill it all the way to the top, photos show a slush to the top and higher, directions say an inch below.
When you freeze the white thing, lay it on its side, the cooling liquid is only like 1/2-3/4 full, I assume to allow for expansion when freezing, but it also means when it stands up the top portion isn't cooled down. Sideways freezing works best.
Hope that helped. I have the cup and also a snow cone machine, I find the mug easier to deal with.... I need to try cold water and the snow cone flavoring and see if that has enough sugar and how a slush will come out... I will update when I do, but the snow cone maker is probably going into the next garage sale.
Fluid of choice can be used
Simple for anyone to use
Removable liner for easy cleaning
Hand keeps hand from being too cold
Takes significantly longer to get an actual slushed drink that reported
Must put back in freezer and restir MANY times, these things are true even if the core has been frozen solid for days
Needs an extended time to refreeze
As with other items of this nature cannot use sugar free liquids (not the products fault, just the facts)
She does like it, and I would rebuy it, its was just a little bit of a let down in general, however she still uses and enjoys the item
I've had two issues: (1) the white portion of all 4 mugs was roughly trimmed when manufactured so I have to make sure that I drink from a smooth portion (I rotate that part toward the place from which I plan to drink). (2) When using for water, the mugs are so cold that the bottom forms a shot-glass shaped ice spot which decreases the amount of water I can drink until it thaws (I'm out of water before that happens). Instead, I stick a butter knife in the bottom (sort of how you'd rest a spoon in the slushy, but I tilt the bottom of the knife toward the front of the mug and the top toward the back). The knife creates a small hole permitting the shot-glass shaped ice cube to release. Then when I refill the mug (usually within the hour), I have an icy cube that floats up and keeps the 2nd glass of water cold (the knife is no longer needed).
When I'm home, these mugs allow me to enjoy nice cold water without the expense or environmental impact of using small bottles of water. The mugs paid for themselves quickly this way. Note: The mugs do not chill room temp water, but keep refrigerator temp water nice and cold much better and longer than typical insulated-type mugs.
Takes 5 minutes to turn into a slush.
This was a gift from my kids and I really like it.
The plastic is a bit on the cheap size, and the concept simple, but you are paying for convenience and simplicity.
