This has been on my TBR list for awhile, but I'm the sort of person who becomes number with anxiety the moment climate change is mentioned. This and I cry anytime I watch anything about dinosaurs because they're extinct, this includes many other animals. So between the two, why would I read a book called The Sixth Extinction?Anyhow, I bought this on a whim when I spotted it on sale. Since I'm starting grad school, I told myself no more nonfiction this summer, but I caved and read this. I'm glad because none of my fiction reads were cutting it. My brain needed a read like this. It's a well balanced narrative between various scientific disciplines and science history. There is of course quite a bit about TJ and Peale and their fossils, which I was happy to see and eye rolled about since they've become too involved in my life.Anyway, check this book out. It's a super easy and quick read, each section is an essay that gets to the point before moving along. This is also the first science book I've read in a long time where I found myself stopping to text people all the new facts I learned.
