Some real strengths here...
on January 15, 2016
Just finished reading this and found myself frustrated. There is some really great work here; good plot, characters and sense of pace. Angela White has a future as a writer, but, like so many self-published books (I hope it was self-published), the typos, while not as pervasive as in many books, was still distracting. If I wanted to, I could play a drinking game with this book: take a shot every time the word "sexy" is used and you'll be drunk in no time. I am impressed with the knowledge of Marine protocol and terminology, the commitment to each character (I hope to God that if the world turned upside down that not every man would become a woman-slaver; if our society's veneer stripped away that quickly, shoot me now). Less so in male/female relationships (Kendle and Luke verged on being wonderful, but just too much telling to make it work as well as it could have.)
I will say this: If White finds a professional editor able to tighten and correct her manuscripts, she could well be a best-selling author.
