The Tombs: A Fargo Adventure, Book 4
Audible Audiobook
– Unabridged
Husband-and-wife team Sam and Remi Fargo are intrigued when an archaeologist friend requests their help excavating a top secret historical site. What they find will set them on a hunt for a prize greater than they could ever imagine. The clues point to the hidden tomb of Attila the Hun, the High King who was reportedly buried with a vast fortune of gold and jewels and plunder....a bounty that has never been found. As they follow the trail through Hungary, Italy, France, Russia, and Kazakhstan - a trail that they discover leads them not to one tomb, but five - the Fargos will find themselves pitted against a thieving group of amateur treasure hunters, a cunning Russian businessman, and a ruthless Hungarian who claims direct descent from Attila himself...and will stop at nothing to claim the tombs' riches as his own.

Attila was said to have loaded his tombs with untold sums of gold, jewels, and artifacts. Attila himself was buried in a solid gold casket which in turn was put inside a larger silver casket. However, Albrecht, Sam, and Remi are not the only ones in the search. Arpad Bako, a Hungarian who is in the business of illegal drugs, is also on the hunt for Attila's treasures. Soon, a world-wide race is underway that will take the Fargos to Italy, Hungary, France, Russia, and Kazakhstan. All the while, they must stay one step ahead of Bako and his group of henchmen.
I'm a big fan of Clive Cussler, and I especially enjoy reading the Fargo stories. Sam and Remi are fun characters and they always seem to find a way to rile up their pursuers. "The Tombs" is full of fast-paced action and adventure that I've come to expect from Cussler. I also enjoy the historical aspect that Cussler attaches to the Fargo series. The supporting characters are well-developed, and Cussler neatly incorporates them into the story.
I highly recommend "The Tombs" and the other books in the Fargo series. The action is fast-paced and the story is fun to read.
