I have taught preschool children for years. This book had a great premise- the idea of teaching children to be happy with what they have. However, the reality of it is that the story has a violent edge to it and the illustrations would give children nightmares. The statement at the end--"...most of us are not happy with what we have." is pretty cynical. Other reviewers don't seem to feel this way, so I can just suggest-- parents and teachers be careful.
