Great Job at Getting the Truth to the People

This book is one of the most thoroughly researched and documented books ever written. The authors have gotten into the minds of the scientists and doctors and painted a vivid picture of who they are and what they did when monkey virus (SV40) was discovered in the polio vaccine. It reads like a detective novel. What is more amazing is how the authors have grasped a very complex scientific field - virology - and explained it to us in an easily understood manner. In fact, they touch on several medical disciplines in their book. And they have been very fair and objective.
This is a sad story of how government agencies like the FDA and NIH, charged with protecting the public, failed to do their job and accept responsibility for their mistakes. Instead they covered up new discoveries, punished whistle-blowers, did nothing for years after discovering dangerous contaminants in vaccines, and refused to help the real champions who were searching for the truth.
The authors have done what the government failed to do and alerted to people to a real danger. They deserve our thanks for this.

This is an important book that will help the reader understand more about vaccine safety and politics. In this case is describes in detail, how millions were exposed to a cancer-causing virus for decades with full knowledge of those in charge of overseeing our safety. Cancer rates have ticked up in several key categories and you might know of someone who died of an especially virulent brain or lung cancer, for example. I could only read this book in small doses as I would get really upset. The book is not written in a hysterical, pundit fashion but as a well-documented presentation of known facts. My take away from this book is to work on my own health and that includes diet and supplements to help keep virus activity as low as possible knowing that I, like everybody else in the U.S. vaccinated in the 20th century has the SV40 virus. Essential reading for those wishing to know what they are up against in trying to stay healthy. Good complement to Dissolving Illusions and Dr. Mary's Monkey.

This book gives the history of Simian (monkey) virus (specifically, SV40) contamination of the polio vaccine. SV40 is a virus associated with certain kinds of cancer. The book describes the lack of response to (and even denial of) the problem by federal authorities. Tests of the vaccines involved a fourteen day period in which contaminants could be observed with a normal microscope; but, certain viruses became observable only after nineteen days. Modern test techniques were not employed as they were developed. The book also describes the controversies between various researchers as well as an apparent lack of interest in the problem on the part of Jonas Salk. It is hard to determine the full impact of the problem because appropriate data has not been developed for the particular cancers (including certain bone, lung and brain cancers) associated with the contaminants.

Excellant book with one glaring flaw!!!

A well researched and excellently written book exposing SV40 contamination of the polio vaccine and subsequent cover up by the vaccine producers with the tacit collusion of the government, however the text limits it's scope to SV40 viral contamination failing to even mention the much more serious introduction of SIV into the human population through contaminated vaccine produced by Hillary Koprowski which was used extensively in vaccine trials in the Belgium Congo.
SIV mutated into HIV which has exponentially killed more people than SV40. Any study of vaccine contamination would be incomplete without the reading of Edward Hooper's "The River: A Journey to the source of HIV & AIDS". Although the authors can be some what forgiven for their intentional over site due to the fact that Hillary Koprowski was a litigious SOB who sued any body who tried to implicate him and his vaccine as the orgin of HIV.

Everyone should read this book. Both my husband and I received lots of the vaccine that was most likely contaminated with the SV 40 virus. We both have gone on to develop cancer. I've had leukemia and he has multiple myeloma, a cross between a bone and blood cancer. With the increase in cancer rates and the cover up of the NCI,FDA,and other government health agencies, its time that the truth be told, not to sue or gain money, but to explain the past and protect the future of our health

There are some very compelling arguments made within, and the evidence provided is literally astonishing, when you consider that vaccine might actually be harming thousands of children every year. And ruining them for the rest of their life.
