Projector Turns Your Home into a Planetarium
What's In The Box
- 1 - Star Theater Pro projector unit
- 1 - Star Theater Pro base
- 1 - Mini USB cable
- 1 - Lens cover
- 2 - Image Discs
- Instruction manual
The Star Theater Pro optical star projection system is a sleek, spherical projector that transforms any wall or ceiling into a starry night sky. The main projection unit is a modern-looking, plastic sphere that sits on a simple base, which swivels the projector easily and securely into any position. Once the projector is in position, the projection can be viewed as a still image or as a slowly rotating view of the night sky by selecting the rotate option on the main control panel.
Versatile Projector Works Almost Anywhere
The small size and sleek shape of the projector make it easy to place in a bedroom or living room unobtrusively. Set up the projector in your living room as an entertaining way to learn about the solar system and distant galaxies, or use it to drift off to sleep in your bedroom by setting the shut-off timer.
Amazing Images with Included Discs
The Star Theater Pro is easy to set up and comes with two image discs, a Starfield disc and an Earth/Moon/Sun disc. The focus dial located on the top of the projector around the optical lens can then be used to make sure the galactic image is sharp and crystal clear.
Easy to Use
These discs easily fit into the disc tray located on the front of the projector. Once inserted, the spherical projector can be turned to face any flat wall or ceiling surface.
From the Manufacturer

Update after 6 weeks:
Still greatly enjoying this projector and have added 7 Miller Engineering star discs to our library of viewing discs. Our regular viewing is settling down to about 3 nights per week and usually just for 30 minutes at a time - sleep comes very easy these nights. The variety of star discs available for this projector is what makes this planetarium work as entertainment for both kids and adults. We bought a second planetarium for our grandsons and we are told the boys are very excited about it. Pressure is now on us to "expand" their library of star discs.
Many reviews criticize the projector's brightness but it is actually brighter with better optics than the Homestar Original and Homestar Pro (gen 2), both of which are far more costly than the UM Star Theater Pro. It is definitely not in the same class of home planetarium as the Homestar Extra, but for the price, it is a nice home planetarium.
I have tried to post several pics of some of the star discs available for the Star Theater Pro but while Amazon reports they have successfully uploaded the images and comments, they randomly throw away most of them - very frustrating. Its odd that they encourage customers to post pictures but then discards them.
he loved it ,and used it until.......
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
We really wanted to put the night sky on our son's ceiling to help him fall asleep at night and definitely wanted something that slowly rotated. The description of the Star Theater Pro fit the bill perfectly.
While it does put a decent starry night sky on the ceiling, we had to return the FIRST unit we received because the rotation stopped working in just a few days of use. The SECOND unit we received was choppy and, after just a month or so of use, began making a squealing sound. For the money we spent, we should have gotten a much better built product.
My recommendation is if you're after the rotating aspect of this, don't waste your money. If you don't care if it rotates, there are much cheaper alternatives so don't waste your money. Same with educational interest. Dollars will go much further elsewhere.
I bought this on Amazon for over $100. Since I wrote this review, they dropped the price to $40. I still believe that anyone wanting it for the rotation feature shouldn't waste their money, but if you don't want it for that then it is now much more competitively priced.
