While I am a Christian, I am very critical of books and writing. This book quotes many of the same scriptures over and over mostly from the Old Testament. It's important to note we are not under that covenant or law any longer. The author does devote a chapter to New Testament support for his views on this subject. I believe God has given him the gift of exhortation and prophesy. The gift of prophesy is not predicting the future. Prophesy is accurately interpreting scripture and giving the people warnings to turn back to God and leave their wicked lifestyles. Prophets stand between and hell and the sinner trying to get them to repent and turn back to God, and that is exactly what this book does. He is right when he says that we have turned the women seeking abortion into victims and everyone that supports them in murdering their babies are the hero's for supporting their friends. He is right in that many are culpable in this mass genocide of infants in our country: our government, the church, the individuals, the schools, and the families. The title comes from the scripture Genesis 4:10 and Deuteronomy 21:1-9, where when innocent blood is spilled and an innocent life is murdered, their blood will cry out from the ground if proper sacrifices aren't made for that death. That is why it's important that our civil government punishes those who murder innocent people, they are following a biblical mandate. However, as time moves on, we have judges that are abandoning the biblical mandate to punish these people and are letting many who murder go free. When this happens, the blood cries out from the ground to God and then God will take revenge on the land that has spilled innocent blood. I agree with this writer's premise and I also agree that many of the horrible things we are seeing in our state as well as the world, are not results of global warming or bats spreading deadly viruses, but are of God exacting revenge for the bloodguilt of not only the US, but many other nations, spilling the blood of innocent people.

The second edition of his work is simply an extension of the nonsensical ramblings of the first. More bible verses to justify Newman's belief that abortion is murder and his tactics of protest and murder are justified. The most notable difference is the removal of the foreward by Flip Benham in favor of works by Troy Newman's former pastor Dan Holman (who openly approved of the murder of Dr. George Tiller) and Frank Pavone. Convicted clinic bomber Cheryl Sullenger is still the co-author.

If you skip all the Bible verses the book whittles down to about 10 pages. So don't expect any whimsical or intelligent thoughts about the philosophy of the anti-choice movement. Simply take a barely literate school child and mash him with 10 years of Sunday school and you understand the intelligent discourse in the pages.

A must read for Christians

While this book does touch on a few current headlines and statistics, it is mostly focused on presenting a biblical framework for why abortion demands the attention of Christians. If the idea that abortion is in the Bible surprises you, then this book should be at the top of your list. This book exposes the evil root underneath abortion, and the judgment that can be expected from God over such practices.

Every believer needs to get familiar with these concepts of shedding of innocent blood, blood pollution, and blood guilt.
