About the Author
Born in Jacksonville, Florida and raised in Texas since age four, K-Trina Meador is the youngest of five children. Growing up in Cross Plains, Texas and being raised on a seventy-acre farm gave her an appreciation for country life and the small town community. She currently works full time as an aircraft mechanic/avionics technician. She has two sons who are actively pursuing their busy lives as adults. The book is also an introduction to the main themes of Journey to Freedom and the settings are also beautifully described. Journey to Freedom sounds like a must-read novel for the summer!
Have you ever read a story that keeps you looking over your shoulder because you are afraid that someone might find out you are sneaking around?
Have you ever experienced the emotions of someone on the run whether from their past, someone evil, or just trying to make a better life for themselves?
If you haven't and you would like to experience it for yourself then this is the anthology for you.
These short stories allow you a glimpse into the lives of five very different people that are all struggling to make it.
They are sad, scary, heartwarming, uplifting, and thought provoking all rolled into one.
K. Meador is an awesome author that takes you to the heart of the story and lets you see and live her characters through their eyes.
I totally recommend this book. I know you will not be disappointed!
It is written tightly and with heart, and holds the reader throughout, but it needs to be read in conjunction with its sequel for a fuller view to be grasped and understood, although without it, it still stands alone as a lovely read that I recommend for the whole family.
Each short story is written in the voice of a character, and takes the reader through a vat of varying emotions. The author has created a great `prologue' style book that draws you in, and leaves you wanting more. An ideal taster prior to reading the full version, yet a story within itself.
All very different characters, but very real. Although their backgrounds are very different, there is an underlying theme in their individual struggles for survival and freedom. Once you have read about their early lives in `Their Journey Begins'. you'll want to read the novel to find out how these three lonely people meet and the effect they have on each other's lives.
